My Region A Tournament Predictions

I'll eventually do predictions for all 4 regions, but I'll start with the Region that I live in.

#1 Colonial Beach vs #8 Rappahannock
Prediction: Colonial Beach 65 Rappahannock 49

#4 Charles City vs #5 Northampton
Prediction: Toss up game. CC won by one in the regular season. This time I'm going with the Jackets, 78-74.

#3 Lancaster vs #6 Washington and Lee
Prediction: W&L beat Lancaster a couple of weeks ago, but I'm sticking with the Devils in this one. 69-62

#2 Mathews vs #7 West Point
Prediction: Mathews 74 WP 51

Regional Semis:

#1 Colonial Beach vs #5 Northampton
Prediction: CB won by 30 in the regular season, but I predict a much closer game this time. CB 75 Northampton 70

#2 Mathews vs #3 Lancaster
Prediction: Another toss up game and a rematch of a regular season thriller. I keep going back and forth on this one, but I have to pick someone. Lancaster 68 Mathews 67

Region A Championship

#1 Colonial Beach vs #3 Lancaster
Prediction: If this happens to be the Regional championship, this will be the 4th meeting. Lancaster won the first two, with the NND championship game coming up on Friday. I'm not sure what will happen in that game, but on a hunch, I'm going with the Beach to win Region A, 72-67.

Very tough Region and as I've said before, I would not be surprised if any of the top 5 seeds won the Region, nor would I be surprised if W&L sprung an upset in the first round. Whatever teams from this Region who make it to states will have earned it, in what I expect to be a very competitive tournament.

Anything can happen in a 1 and done setting but anyone beating Auburn or Grundy would be a real surprise to me.....GW pushed Auburn last night but that was on their home floor

I noticed that GW has the other McMillan kid back. I'll wait to see how everything plays out, but if I was forced to pick a state championship winner right now, Auburn would be my pick. On top of that, they only have one senior on the team and will be strong contenders to win it all next year as well
