First off these are just my picks. Feel free to discuss in an adult manner and have an actual thread without someone getting upset. I will start by saying I can honestly see any of these four winning it all. Very evenly matched teams and all programs that i have great respect for.

#1East Sussex (12-0) vs #2 West George Wythe (12-1)

I picked against both of these teams last week and both schools probably hope i pick against them this week as obviously I was wrong last week. Sussex brings in a powerful defense that hasn't given up more than 20 points in a game all season and that was in week 1. Most games teams have been lucky to score more than a touchdown. GW brings in an offense that will be the best the Tigers have seen all year though. The key to GW having success against the Tiger defense is qb Deacon Beamer. If he has the time like he did last week he can pick apart any defense. But Sussex is a lot more athletic than PM and won't allow a 10-12 yard cushion to the Maroon wrs like last week. For the first time this year the Maroons in my opinion wont be the more athletic team. Sussex will look to stuff the run game while making life miserable for Beamer through pressure. This to me is a key battle in this game. The other key is the Sussex offense vs the GW defense. Unlike PM last week though Sussex has a qb in Malik Delk who can beat you with his arm and legs. They have run the veer successfully for years and in Hatch and Procise they have 2 guys who can tote the rock. Sussex also can line up in the spread and pass as need be as well.
Prediction- Maroon fans may be thanking me as I am once again picking against them. Lol. I think it will be a game that is close the whole way but in the end behind a ferocius defense and the all around play of Delk at qb, the Tigers pull it out.
Sussex 24
GW 20

#1 West Galax (11-2) vs #2 East Riverheads (11-1)

A rematch of last years physical state title game. I think this one will once again be a chess match between two of the best coaches in all of Virginia at any level in Dixon of Galax and Casto of Riverheads. This game to me will resemble Riverheads week 10 game against Stuarts Draft. Two evenly matched teams not giving a single inch. Last year Galax pretty much shutdown the wing t of the Gladiators altogether. I'm sure Dixon has watched film of that game with his team as Riverheads doesn't usually change up what they do offensively. I think Riverheads might slide in a few Wildcat plays to give the Tide a different look but for the most part won't stray too far from what got them here. Galax will have the fastest player on the field in Peoples but just like I said last week dont forget about Brown either. He actually had 232 yards of his own last week against Fort. But also don't be surprised to see Galax go to the air some with Orton at qb. His success could determine the outcome.
Prediction- A virtual tossup in my opinion. You just dont get much more evenly matched than these two. In the end I'm going on a hunch.
Riverheads 17
Galax 14

Good post but I hope you're wrong with the predictions, especially the Galax one. I do think Riverheads will be one of the best teams Galax has seen this year and they will have to play a heck of a game to get the win.

It really is a toss up in both games in my opinion. I won't be surprised really with any team winning. I would be surprised if either game is a blowout. Truly is a wide open final four. Btw is Spurlin playing football anywhere in college or wrestling? I know he was a multi time champ there as well and his little brother won one as well last year as a freshman

Spurlin is playing football at App state, if I'm not mistaken he redshirted this year. I thought he might wrestle some where but he loves football.

Does Galax really have two losses, as stated above? I thought their only one was the fluke loss to Fort Chiswell that they made up for last weekend. If they did lose a second time, who beat them and how did they still manage the number one seed?

The second loss was to Graham. They beat 2A Giles and Glenvar and GW which helped their ranking a lot. Last year they had 4 losses and were still a 3 seed. Overall strength of schedule helped them

Sos and number of 2A teams played got them the #1. Same reason an 9-1 PM got a 6 seed. Who you play in the regular season means alot.

Nooooooooo....dont pick us KW!!!!

spurlin was a beast in the championship game last year, he was in on every tackle of every play, rhs did not get there first down till the third quarter, I think rhs is bigger and stronger this year so hopefully galax don't have another player capable as him to stop there running game, should be a great game, 2 good teams with 2 great coaches, GO BIG RED

How many 2A teams did Riverheads play,I know their only loss was to Stuarts Draft and that was in overtime and Stuarts Draft is still in the 2A playoffs.

I believe five 2A schools and 1 3A in Waynesboro. That's just going off the top of my head. Think that's right though. Is it bad when I can memorize other schools schedules? Lol

Only missed 1 :)

2A (6)(RE Lee, Buffalo Gap, Page County, Wilson Memorial, East Rockingham, and Stuarts Draft)

3A (1)(Waynesboro)

Riverheads(25.60000) did end up with a higher rating than Galax(25.00000), but since Galax is highest remaining seed in the west, they get to host the lowest remaining seed from the east.

They should amend that rule to still cross-bracket, but allow the team with more regular season power points to host.

Not right in my opinion, but I guess I'm a little biased on that one,to important to be ranked higher and have to travel, home field is huge.

. Not the way it works, if Riverheads had won their last game of the regular season they might have been the one seed in the east and not had to travel. But since Galax is the low seed in the West and it's cross bracket time the highest seed in the east which is Riverheads comes South to Galax.

Still is not the correct way of doing it,but I will shut up about it.

If any team is capable of going out west and winning i think riverheads is that team. For so many reasons...i think they will be fine. RH is a good team and well coached.
