Narrows @ Galax moved to Friday at 2

Sleet and freezing rain in the forecast for the Twin County's for Friday night and into Saturday morning. Given thousands in this area just got power restored yesterday from the ice last Thursday, this is a preemptive move to ensure the game doesn't get cancelled Saturday.
That doesn't solve the issue of ice on Friday night. Playing at 2pm on Friday offers the best chance of getting the game played and Narrows home safely before weather becomes an issue.
NWS in Blacksburg says rain/freezing rain/sleet beginning after dark and continuing through Saturday morning. Chance of precipitation 80%.
Not taking advantage of daylight hours would be a risky proposition given the result could leave the winner playing at Chilhowie on a short week.
Weather Channel says nothing
till after midnight but I get your point I'm just saying it sucks for people who have to work can't make the game who have not missed a game in a long time.
Every weather report I show has nothing starting till after midnight and shows it to be in the 40s all day Saturday with the rain stopping at 1.
It certainly sucks for people who are not going to get to see their kid play their last game at Galax or possibly their last game ever.

No I haven't been trucking in about 20 years, I think you met one of my friends that was on here back at the Galax and Riverheads game in 2016 i think and their was some confusion on names, I can't remember what he went by on here but he is still trucking I think. He told me had met some real nice guys from Riverheads and my name was bought up.
I'm sure if one or your daughters were a senior like optimals son is and they could be playing in their last game ever and they had to change when the game was played and it knocked you out of being there because you had to work you wouldn't like it either, I understand why they done it but doesn't mean everyone has to like it
I'm sure my daughters would understand. But I'm also certain my employer would as well. It's a great teachable moment for children. Often in life, we don't always get our way. It isn't always fair but there is never a wrong time to do the right thing.
This isn't just about Optimals son or just any Galax son. It's about all of the Narrows sons as well. How do their parents feel having their child on a bus, two hours from home, in a potential ice storm?
As usual you miss my point, I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND WHY THEY MOVED THE GAME TO 2 ON FRIDAY, I'm just saying it sucks for parent's and fans who have to work and can't make the game

Your assumption that employers will understand and just let them off work shows how off base you are. Alot of the parents, and I am sure this includes Narrows parents as well, do not have employers that will say just take the day off.
As he said no one said it wasn't the right thing to do, just that it was unfortunate and that the current weather prediction doesn't support it. I have seen three different scenarios so who knows Although you getting on the SWVA and stating that people on here are niave or hopelessly irresponsible because they do not agree with you is.. Well I just leave it at that.

Some folks on that other site are pissed at Galax for not playing Friday night or Saturday. Given the circumstances, Galax is doing the responsible thing and I applaud them for it. Some people are just hopelessly irrational.
If attending the game is that important to them, take a sick day.
