Narrows @ Galax

Even though some have downplayed them this year, Galax is legit. Dominate performance from them.
Im going out on a limb here but go ahead and pencil them in for the C/D representative for Salem. Sorry Chilhowie I just think theyre too physical and are playing too good of football right now to be denied the trip north.
That’s okay. No worries here. I just left the game and wasn’t that impressed. Galax looked undisciplined, sloppy and penalty laden. Something Chilhowie will make them pay for. It’ll be a good game that’s for sure but I think Chilhowie has way too many more weapons in their arsenal. Chilhowie’s defense would shut down Galax’s running game very quickly. Chilhowie beat Galax last year and Chilhowie is twice the team they were then. After watching today’s performance if that’s the Galax that shows up next week, they won’t be in Salem. Patrick Henry or Chilhowie will beat them easily.
You should have seen them play Radford. Maybe that would have give you a better opinion.
Maybe so, but the excitement is brewing and we will see next week if Chilhowie wins tomorrow and hosts Galax at Warrior Stadium. Also, something looked amiss with Narrows as well. How could that team make it this far. They looked beat before they started.
I saw a completely different game today than he did. What I saw was a team that was dominant in all phases today. I am Glad you are confident in your team, although if you seriously believe what you just said and that Chilhowie will shut down Galaxs run game easily you are kidding yourself. 3A Northside couldn't completely shut down their run game. Galax is a far better this year than last as well.
Galax beat Radford by 3 tds. Radford just took down 3 time defending champion Appo. IMO I just think Chilhowie will have a hard time matching Galax physical style. Im basing that of what I saw last year from Chilhowie. They got manhandled on both sides of the ball in the championship game and Galax plays that same physical style as Riverheads.
You are going to throw on Narrows with the teams you guys have played this year. PH has played the weakest schedule in 1A this year right next to Chilhowie
I'm not throwing on Narrows, I'm saying something was not right with them today. Were they missing a key player from last week? Did last week affect them mentally? I meant no disrespect to Narrows but there is no way that is the same team that got them this far.

Oh the ole weakest schedule card, I figured somebody will pull it. But everyone seems to forget the 2A teams Chilhowie played. But between the 15 different schools Chilhowie and PH played and beat, you'll telling me they're all weak? Thats okay we've heard it all year as I'm sure PH has to.
They were missing Cole Needham. He was the player ejected last week. He was the teams best pass rusher with 9 sacks on the year. He was a large loss. Also down another DL that tore his ACL. Not sure it would have made that big a difference today but surely didnt help matters.
I agree that Riverheads game was not pleasant to watch and that was amazing for Galax to take down Radford like that. But last year Chilhowie team is just that, last year. It will definitely be an exciting game to watch, but Chilhowie has a game tomorrow they must complete first.

God I can't believe you have me defending Galax, Narrows is a tough hard nose team year in and out. I just think they ran into a buzz saw today. I know that our kids wasn't use to the speed they have when we played them. Good luck to you and Galax as whoever makes it to Salem will have their hands full with Riverheads
Thanks for sharing that. I new something was amiss, they looked like they were struggling with something. I hate that for them, it stinks when you miss any player, especially a key player in such an important game.
SW VA boy let me start off by saying I thought your kids had a heck of a season and absolutely have nothing to be ashamed of. I thought your boys played hard and handled themselves very well. During the game and especially after the game they were an extremely classy bunch, as was your fans that walked by me on the way out
As far as the schedule anytime you go 10-2 it's a good year. And really Narrows lost those by a total of what 7 points. The other thing about the schedule is it doesn't matter who youve played come game day in the playoffs.

Well I hope you will come and be an unbiased observer tomorrow at the Chilhowie / PH game. I'll even buy you a hotdog and save you a seat. I apparently have on my "rose colored glasses" and I've tried no to put them on all year. Galax played a great game today and Narrows never gave up and played with heart until the end. Ignore my ignorant comments above, I let me emotions get the best of me. Sorry to all!

1. Is the game still at 1pm?

Narrows made it this far for one reason...they played absolutely nobody until today
Harsh, but sadly true. It's going to be like that every year now that they are in the Pioneer. There's some good history there, but the Pioneer hasn't done anything lately.
I wasn't able to make it due to work but none of these messages surprises me. I expected the boys to take an L in this game but to hear they never quit is good to hear and expected as well. Although, I am surprised to hear someone from Giles to call themselves a nobody but I shouldn't be given the discussion. Most of their fans on message boards seem to talk this way even to their own detriment just to talk down to Narrows. Seems to be a culture thing. I don't get it but whatever it is talking yourself down works, whatever. Anyway, good luck to Galax and Chilhowie next week. I'm hoping for a injury free day for both and for either one to take the title belt home. The boys had a good run and Galax was obviously the better team on Friday. On to basketball. See you guys next year!
