The Ninth Annual Western Area Kicking Clinic will be held at Floyd County High School April 17th, 2016 at 8:45 A.M.- 4:30 P.M.

Instruction in placekicking, punting, and snapping will be provided by Carol. A. White ( former coach at Georgia Tech and director of the Auburn Kicking Academy) and a group of Virginia and North Carolina college players. This one day clinic is designed as a supplement to spring football practice and as a means to encourage the development of shared practicing throughout the summer months. Graduating seniors are welcome to attend.

What to gain from the clinic?
1. Identification of 1 to 3 muscle or joints needs which, if addressed aggressively during the spring and summer, would improve your potential in kicking, pun ting, snapping and other activities.

2. Review of drills which will enhance your kick/punting/snapping/holding form and techniques.

3. Refinement of your mental approach to the kicking game.

If nothing else, you will spend a day with positive, success-minded local athletes who want to share with you their experiences as kickers, punters, or snappers. They will discuss academics, college recruiting, and effective training practices. Remember to bring a football and any needed tees. Clinic will be held regardless of weather.

Cost : $50 for placekickers and punters
$40 for snappers
(Lunch will be delivered at no additional cost to you.)

To Enroll: Contact Rob Campbell, Clinic Director at 540-250-2114 or Stan Hawkins at 540-392-2348

If you're a kicker, this clinic really helps.
I know the Salem kicker Nate Craft will be attending. He will be a Jr this coming fall. He only missed 4 kicks last year, 3 XP & a FG. He kicked the game winning FG in OT to help the Spartans win the title. He didn't get many opportunities to kick FG's last year because Salem scored so many TD's.

I hope he gets some scholarship offers this year. He really has a good leg, both in distance and accuracy. He's a good kid, comes from a great family. I've had the privilege of getting to know his family in the last 6 months and he deserves everything good that comes his way. These camps are great teaching tools. This particular camp is very close by to the Roanoke area and a great opportunity for kickers to learn & hone skills. Considering Nate has 2 years left of HS football, his upside is phenomenal!

Tough for kickers to get schollies. Beamer relied on walk-ones almost always. The difference in HS and College from a power and distance standpoint is pretty eye opening. GL to him regardless. I always wanted my sons to do this. Play Soccer and kick a Football. Soccer sets you up. Keeps you in good shape for leg strength. Football kicker is the easiest money in sport.
