I see Northumberland "hype", based on an undefeated season so far. (Although they did lose to a Home School team- which is a loss in my book) correct me if i'm wrong, but they haven't played anybody yet. And the NND schedule is looming. good luck Indians.
Essex's record and Lancaster's record are deceiving. They are perhaps the two best teams in the NND.
Essex made a strong showing in the Christmas tourney- full of 6A, 4A teams. I believe they came in 6th, with a 1-2 record and a good showing in the other games. They also had late players arrive after a football playoff run.
Lancaster was also in the same tourney. going 1-2, winning the 7th place game against Manassas Park. Put Essex and Lancaster against normal 1A teams and they will be strong.
Lancaster also has a loss to Christ Church- a very very good private school team.
I applaud both coaches and AD's of Essex and Lancaster for scheduling tough teams and getting battle tested before the meat of the district season starts.
Here we go. NND time!!!!
