NND to be interesting next fall......

Can't wait until the season start but I have a feeling it will be an interesting year.
Will Essex have enough to stay on top?
Will Rapp bounce back after a down year?
Will Northumberland continue their recent success?
How will CB do with losing there star RB and HC?
Can Lancaster finally make some noise?
W&L back to 1A, can they get back to dominance of their glory days?

What do my NND folks think?

Four of the six teams will have different coaches than last year. Essex, Colonial Beach, Lancaster and Northumberland. Essex was very young last year and return leading rusher KJ Dameron as well as rb/wr Tim Johnson, who is their best athlete and also wr Terrell Hundley plus Tamajae Jones will get a full year at qb. They've been in the weight room since January and I think they should be the favorite. If I had to pick a 2nd place team at the moment I'd say W&L as they return their qb I believe and some good athletes from last year. Personally I can't wait until summer practices begin.

Hard to believe that W&L is going on their 4th coach in 6 years. Can't fault Wild for the move as it looks as it's in the best interest of his family.

Won't get any argument here. The coach to turn W&L back around and the best coach for the job is Malcolm Lewis himself. So much respect for him and the way he could make kids believe. He didn't always have the most talented teams, though he had some of those too, but he had kids who fought for him and in my opinion he's one o the best coaches to ever come through the Northern Neck.

Wow, 5 out of 6 teams with new head coaches. Sort of takes the "new coach" factor off of the table, huh?

Like you said, kwhs, you have to admire him making a decision he thinks is best for his family. But, going from the bucolic Northern Neck to NOVA is a HUGE change. Now, if he was doing the opposite, I could wrap my "rural" mind around that.

If memory serves me right, didn't the Redskins put in a new, state of the art, turf field for Park View a couple of years ago?

I'm not sure on the field turf as I'm not familiar with that area at all... On a different note though, Essex is the only one of the 5 who has its new coach in place and Todd Jones was announced in January and they've been in the weight room since then. Hopefully the other schools will have hires soon as we are already in mid April already.
