Final - Norcom 25, Lafayette 7 on Region 3A Quarterfinals.
Greyhounds will visit unbeaten Hopewell (11-0) in regional semis.
The reason like most of football was simply turnovers. 8 by Lafayette, two leading to scores and three in the red zone .Norcom was very good and had far fewer turnovers. Simple as that. Based on what I saw neither squad is remotely ready for Hopewell.I can't wait to hear the excuses for this loss.
I'm sure it's completely related to the BRD "weak district" and absolutely nothing to do with Norcom just being the better team...<<insert eye roll here>>...
Good job Norcom. Big mountain next week. Hugely more talented squad in Hopewell.

I agree - the defense played very admirable- almost excellent. The offense not only played poorly but gave away 12 points to Norcom. The defense hit hard and well. The offense never came out of the locker room. The runniing plays only worked on occasion and the passing game with the stiff wind was poor. An illustration was Lafayette passing deep against the 20 mph wind and into double coverage on the receiver. Of course Int. Poor call by the coaches and poor execution by the offense.Nobody survives 8 turnovers. Rams are lucky they kept the score that close.

A week ago we heard how great Lafayette was because they gave it to Warhill, who also lost in the first round. I'd like to believe Norcom had something to do with the turnovers. The defense gave up 25 points and offense scored no points. Norcom played y'all in the same wind. lol at y'alls place. I know its hard to fathom but y'all "just loss to a better team" its that simple. Hopewell is the better team than Norcom but Norcom has a better chance of beating Hopewell than Lafayette ever did. Y'all need to work on solving y'alls Norcom problem. Do it while y'all are beating up on BRD teams and then next time the wind won't matter, your offense will come out of the locker room and score points and your defense won't allow 25 points to a lower seeded team at home.I agree - the defense played very admirable- almost excellent. Just say we lost to the better team. The box score dont list the wind gusts...lol Its survive and advance.Actually the defense gave up 19 points as one Int was returned for a TD. Both teams played with the wind but in the 4 th Q trying to catch up Lafayette was going against gusts of 20-25 mph winds and that just wasn’t going to work. Norcom hit harder than any other team Lafayette played and no other team in the Bay Rivers executes the spread like Norcom. In the end the trouble wasn’t the defense but the offense. It was 12-7 in the 2 Nd half but the offense continued to sputter.
