Maybe he will ask why they canceled the King William game.
When will this air? I missed the 6pm news, but I didn't see anything on the 11 o clock news
My guess to get ready for Essex the game thats more important
Who gains from cancelling that game? Just curious what the logic is for cancelling that game to prepare for Essex which might be as big of a challenge.

I can assure you that no one in the Northumberland Football program wanted this game cancelled or had anything to do with the decision.
All the coaches and players were fired up to take on a great King William team and face some excellent competition.
This game would have featured two of the highest ranked college football prospects facing each other in the storied history of Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula football. Plus, both teams are also top ranked in their respective classes.
Not to mention the fans, band, flag team, cheerleaders, dancers, JROTC color guard etc. were also looking forward to it as NHS has not had a home game yet. They also have been practicing a long time for this event.

This tough decision was made solely because of the very recent violent and scary events at Essex High School that evidently involved many groups of people from several counties, mainly adult men (how sad that it has come this in our beloved, historic area...).
It was a very difficult decision to cancel this big game and it involved many leaders of different organizations I would assume.
Hopefully, after these pathetic and sad events calm down or some people are arrested, the games can be played - most likely during the early afternoon on Saturday or with limited fans etc.

I was told that it will now air next week (maybe Thursday).
I am guessing that since the big KW game is not happening this Friday, Ch. 6 news out of Richmond wants to air it before the next big one v Essex.
(if that big game is allowed to happen...up in the air right now).
Obviously, we all want that game to occur so I hope that a plan of action is developed.
And they were worried about playing in King William? I assume they will limit tickets or either call in the National Guard.
KW and Northumberland were supposed to play at Northumberland this week. There was safety concerns because at least one person involved in the shooting in Essex was a Northumberland student and there are others that haven't been arrested yet or to my knowledge, even identified.
So far 2 have been arrested. Got a text from a friend that said they picked the 2nd guy up today and he is facing 6 counts.
The big question is...will the judge do their freaking job and come down hard on these punks and show them the inside of a cell? Or will they get a slap on the wrist and a pat on the back. Seems we're far too much of the latter these days.
Just to clarify (and not at all to excuse what the Northumberland juvenile did, he was involved in the early fighting) but evidently the kid from Northumberland got involved in a fight with several men in their 20s near the ticket box. The Police tried to break it up and rightly arrested the youth. The Northumberland kid was in police custody (only one at the time I am told).
However, the shooting incidents all happened later in different places in or near the EHS campus. I am glad that some of these criminals have been caught.

I was told they are waiting on the VHSL to decided what to do about the game.
I hope they can finish it.
Drove down through Tappahannock for the first time ever a couple weekends back. We were going to stop at Lowery's as I remember you guys used to talk about it back in the day on here...oops! Ended up getting Sheetz instead sadly.
Lowery’s closed their doors for good back in early 2020. Chef Gordon Ramsay from the tv show Hell’s Kitchen, did a remodel show there. Right when they were ready to re-open, covid hit. They never opened back up. Building up for sale now.
