We will have 6 of the 8 state tournament teams settled by the end of the night tonight (Thursday).

There are 4 elimination games tonight.

Region A
Colonial Beach vs. Mathews (Saturday)

BOTH TEAMS have advanced to state tournament

Region B
Riverheads vs. Carver (Thursday)
Sussex vs. Cumberland (Thursday)

WINNERS advance to state tournament and play on Saturday

Region C
Auburn vs. Narrows (Friday)
Parry McCluer vs. George Wythe (Friday)

WINNERS advance to state tournament and play on Saturday

Region D
Grundy vs. Twin Springs (Thursday)
Eastside vs. Northwood (Thursday)

WINNERS advance to state tournament and play on Friday

Thanks for all the detail. Do we know yet what time of day the state finals are and if the girls are right before or after? I suspect the VHSL will do what they did last year and cut each "session" down to just two games so as to maximize their profits but make it less appealing to fans. I used to love going on a Friday or Saturday and seeing as many as four or five games but last year when they pulled that, I did not go at all.

None of that has been announced at this time. In my opinion the state quarters should be played March 3 with the state semifinals on either March 6 or 7.

The schedule on the VHSL site lists the Group 1 games are listed as 6:00 and 8:00 on the 12th.
