I have been waiting for this one all season (along with the Hampton game). I will be at this game....NO DOUBT! 8-0 Woodside! Two power house teams going at it is going to be a treat to watch.

Heard each team had well over 100 yards of penalties, another bunch of flag happy refs. I’ve seen more this year like this than in the past. Just let them play.

You’d think those guys were trying to meet quota or getting paid by the flag tonight. I counted Atleast 11 pointless flags then the quick count on delay of game ‍♂️

It was brutal, hard for either team to really establish momentum. I didnt disagree with most of the calls

lafayette had the flag happy refs at York and at home to Smithfield. Nearly 150 in each game. Found out they were the same crew!!

The only thing I can say is when you have unsportsmanlike conduct penalties on both sides you have to call it closer the rest of the game to ensure nobody feels "cheated" or retaliate because they were held and it didn't get called or why can that team do this and we cant. Both teams got there share of flags, at least it wasn't lopsided.

It is true some "crews" are a little to ambitious and think they're NFL bound with all the flags. The Maury/HSHS game last year is an example, a referee tossed a kid for putting his fist up to signal 4th down. Another sent a kid off because he had 2 wristbands on his wrist. It happens at this level unfortunately

This game was very disheartning to say the least. Neither team could get a rythmn at all. Despite the ridiculous penalties (many were uneccessary) both teams showed the stout defenses they both have. Some hard hitting and lightning speed. Woodside was the fastest and best defense I've seen all season. Phoebus were equally as good defensively especially holding the Wolverines to two FGs while having first down inside the 1 and the Phantoms held them out. That is a very good Woodside team. They'll be heard from come playoffs. This was a character win for Phoebus. They were definitely tested by Woodside, the refs, and themselves.

Woodside was surprisingly small in numbers to be so good, thats a 4 A school with a bench of maybe 8 players. Kids playing both sides of field. Never scene a school over 3A play the Wing T (I think that is what O that was). Them kids with all that hair were solid, they were in on every play. Pheobus dug down deep to win that one. I say Pheobus was clearly the better team. That D was killing that rushing attack that Woodside was trying to do...

Woodside is a Class 5A school. And it's Phoebus not Pheobus. Just think of Phoenix not Pheonix. Also, I agree that Phoebus was probably the better team not clearly. The refs didn't allow either team clearly show their dominance.
