Playoff Picture for All Shenandoah Teams

The Staunton Leader has a story online detailing the schedule for all playoff games (boys and girls) that will be competing in the regionals. As most of you already know, that will involve three different classifications.

In one interesting twist in Class 2, Region B, Buffalo Gap finished as the number six seed in both boys and girls, whereas Stuarts Draft is the number three seed in each. So they will conduct those opening round games as a doubleheader.

Something interesting to look forward to if it should happen would be a Class 2, Region B final between East Rockingham and the Cougars. But that is of course cart before a bunch of horses.

Dumbest thing is all the rematches in Region 2B. At least in previous seasons the first round was Bull Run/Shenandoah criss cross. 6 of the 8 Region 2B games are rematches from teams in the same district which means 3rd time at least. Clarke at East Rock will be the 4th matchup of the season and the THIRD in the last 3 weeks.

I had not noticed that particular quirk but I am guessing the criss-crossing you mentioned cannot be done because of there being more than just the two districts involved.

What do you think of Wilson? We play them Friday and know you've seen them a couple times.

Cville can name their score. Wilson does not have the athletes to play with Cville

The Shenandoah has been so crazy this year that I would not even hazard a guess as to Wilson's chances against C'ville. It will depend on which team shows up. Will it be the one that went to Stuarts Draft and handed them their only district loss or will it be the one that got crushed by 22 at Riverheads, by 34 at Staunton, and even lost by 26 at home to Buffalo Gap?
