PM.....a very very good running team, not fair to either Altavista or PM to have to play so early in playoffs. PM should have had a higher seed then 6th....I can't say enough how good this team is, very classy fan base and team. Thanks for coming to Atown.....I hope yall have a safe drive home.

It's been said on preps before but I agree 100%.....Dawson is a BEAST!!!!!

After the first PM possession in which they scored, the altavista defense stepped up and shut PM down except for the FG.

Very physical game out there!! Hats off to a good PM team . Altavista played great tonight hats off to there defense really stepped it up after the first TD . Altavista wore pm second-half.

Hey great game! Altavista is as tough as I figured they would be.

My apologies for not getting letting you know where'd I'd be standing this evening. As always, I get sidetracked on my always short visits back to BV.

Good luck the rest of the way.

On a side note, I may have met HR6(?)..I did chat briefly with a Gretna fan before kickoff...

That wasn't me, but I think I know who you talked with. There was one Gretna fan I know who was on PM side of field.

PM is a perfect example of why teams need to throw the ball sometimes to win. AltaVista played their defense no more than 5 yards of the line all game. Had they thrown the ball to open up their run game the score would have looked much different. It was frustrating to watch that defense scream throw the ball all night. Hell with the seeding. coach em up!

Correct, had they thrown the ball more and opened up the game, they could have been beaten by 45. It does little good to do what you do not do well.

That's why I say Coach Em Up! I thought it was pathetic, they threw one pass. He could have drawn up a couple plays in the dirt for that matter. Altavista is a good team, but a well balanced team like Honaker will give them a fit. Ill be the first to admit I thought Honaker was overrated, but after seeing more teams in this thing I think they're right where they belong.

If you judge Altavista after seeing them 1 game then you are in trouble, they changed their game last night to what PM gave them and adjusted the defense to defend PM and Dawson.

It befuddles me why many teams simply refuse to throw ball. As I have stated many times, good teams lose in playoffs because they will not throw ball, more than any other reason. You don't have to pass 30 times a game, just enough to keep defense honest. The first thing every coach should do is develop a QB. Heck I could line up under center and hand ball off. Heck I could even go to sideline and get play from coach. I despise seeing any team with QB under center except maybe in some goal line situations. I wish rules could be changed to require every play to be ran from shot gun formation except when inside 10 yard line. It would improve the game.

Yes I understand that. What I'm saying is teams like Honaker will not keep pounding it when you stack the box. They have some tall receivers that can go up and get the ball. Its going to get interesting next week to say the least. Providing Honaker, and Galax win today.

Colonels have only allowed 65 points all year, that's including last night. They've played "balanced" teams this year, Colonels have 19 interceptions. 8 of those were pick 6's. AHS defensive coordinator Mike Revis is as good as they get, and with the athletes he has this year, he can adjust what they do for just about any team.
