Just wondering if anyone knows the current points system for VHSL basketball. I think for Dan River, if they beat a 2A school, do they get 6 or 7 points, I know it goes up a point per level and you get some points even in a loss up in class. Anyone knows exactly?

Not sure it's the same. I think advancing is mostly based on regular season titles and winning tournaments .

In region C it has nothing to do with titles or district tourneys. They have a point system based on wins and also based on who you play by what class they are in. Like if you play and beat a 2A team you get 6 points if you win and 0 if you lose. If you play a 6A team you get 10 points if you win and 4 if you lose. So it benefits you to play up as much as you possibly can. To use Martinsville as an example, they play in a district where they are the only 2A team so they have to play up for at least 14 games( district games) but they also play up in 7 of their 8 non district games so they only have 1 game where they wont get any points if they lose. But Radford will offset that because they will probably go undefeated except possibly the Northside game, so they will receive maximum points for all their games, the Dogs have four losses which they only got 7 points for those games. Also region C will have a East-West division this year with Radford, Martinsville in the West and DR, Gretna, & Appo in the East. Will cross bracket at a neutral site when it gets down to 4 teams left.
