Chuck Poston resigns as SRHS Head Coach? They’re losing quite a leader

Strange. The news says he’s still going to teach English at the school.

It’s a lot of work for little pay to be a VA high school football coach. The dudes probably tired.

Maybe the well is running dry. Time to get out of Dodge.

Real coaches don’t coach because of talent , they coach because they love it, and they developing young men. But comes a time you have to think about your own family

That is not it at all. Coach Poston is not only an excellent coach but really invests in the kids success both on and of the field. Good coaches never get a day off. A lot of sacrifices in your personal life are made as a head coach. Sometimes it's just time to go.

Hopefully, Staunton River can keep things going in the right direction. It's hard not to think of the possible parallel to Eastern Montgomery and what happened there after another Coach Poston with an innovative offense and unlikely collection of talent left after a couple of magical seasons.

I'm not sure about this, but isn't one of the Assistants there the mastermind behind the single-wing offense they run? Maybe he'll be up for the head coaching job.

I'm hoping that they will prompt from within. The offensive coordinator and running backs coaches both have head coaching experiences at other schools. They both are also SR alumni.
