Power Points Question....?

Does anyone know what situation with how Charles City will play into the power points with teams like W&L, Southampton, & King William? Those games would have implications on playoff seeding in Region 1A.
It seems the other teams on Charles City schedule has replaced their game.

have to wait for the ratings release to see if the game was marked out or counted as a FFT, unless you want to contact each coach/AD and ask.
Honestly, I've heard that things have gotten a LOT more complicated in the last 2 weeks... so wait for the ratings.

The problem you'll see is that if you look at the vhsl master schedule, Charles City isn't on it. Whoever is crunching the numbers for the vhsl is probably not digging to see if those teams"earned forfeit wins" when the game isn't even on the books as far as the vhsl is concerned. If those teams want to try to get points for winning they will probably have to take it up with the vhsl themselves.
The teams that scheduled an alternative opponent seem to have done themselves a favor.

Teams like w&l and King William this should benefit them. Their total points will go into 9 games instead of 10. In King Williams case 16 points with no rider points would bring their rating down.
King william- w/o cc points 20.40
with cc points 19.66
W&L- w/o cc points 14.60
With cc points 14.83

KW would get 18, which would still hurt their rating.

I'd say as W&L gets further into the district schedule the 16 will help as wins will be hard tot come by. As long as their average is below 16 it will help. The last few teams in region A usually have a rating below 16. W&L will probably be one of the last few in unless they get some upsets in the NNK.

I'm sure these teams had to designate what they wanted to do beforehand? Doesnt seem right to be able to wait until the end to decide yes we want the free win because our rating of below 16 or no we don't because it will hurt us last minute. I'm sure the VHSL will have more clear rules in the future with the high number of teams deciding not to play football this year/against certain teams.

The VHSL knows when FFTs are involved ... but only IF the SCHOOLS notify THEM. It's not up to the VHSL to "dig".
The master sched WE see is a PDF & isn't what they use for ratings.

Getting another opponent isn't necessarily the best thing for ratings. Some Appo. ppl. complained a while back (?last year?) about playing non-point FUMA instead of Nelson Co., when playing Nelson would've HURT their ratings.

Can these 3 teams wait and decide at the very end whether or not to take a forfeit or not? Or did they have to decide during the week they were supposed to play CC?

The rider points are important too....If W&L gets a FF from Charle City, It would effect every team they have played.
