If that is correct, or even close then Riverheads is home for the holidays (playoffs). Even with a loss to Central (probably ending 16 points) and a win vs page 26, that would not drop them enough

Don't know what it is this year but state semis rotate and aren't based on power points.

Looks like we have a new Riverheads recruit on here. Welcome aboard! Judging from this post, he knows his stuff since I am pretty sure he is correct on this point.

I could be out in left field but I am pretty sure unless Riverheads loses both we are locked at 1 with Northumberland the only team that can overtake Franklin for the Region A number 1. Both would end up few points shy of the Red team.

I am thinking it is 238 potential max for Franklin and NHS at 242 potential max. RH potential max is 256 with two wins and minimum of 243 if we lose to Central. No disrespect to Page but that loss is unlikely so I did not account for that scenario.

I will go on record and say it’s highly likely Franklin wins out. All due respect to Northumberland, but there is still one test. If both win out it will be about the rider points. Both need to cheer on their opponents.

It’s so close and I am sure I probably messed something up but it worries me to death until the points come out, lol. Not that I care where we are seeded, I just want to know whether I have a clue of how it works.

I think you are correct. I posted a thread on Saturday saying the exact same thing but wanted some verification. Would be first time for RH to be top seed with possibility of hosting a state semi as long as they win. Can Greenville handle the crowd?
LOL

RedPride, you made me laugh and reminded me of something that happened many, many, years ago.

In a past life, I took a fire service training course taught by a couple of instructors from the Va Beach F D. They traveled together all over the state teaching classes. One time, they happened upon a train derailment, and typical of most guys, they had to stop and figure out what had actually happened.

The older of the two told his sidekick why this car ended up here, and that car ended up there, and on and on. In time, they climbed back in their vehicle and headed merrily on their way, happy in their skills as accident investigators.

After a period of uncharacteristic silence, the older guy asked the younger guy why he was so quiet? The younger sidekick told his mentor that he just had one question for him, a question that was really bugging him. Older guy said, go ahead with your question. The younger guy said I hear you, and I see why you said this car here, that car there, I can follow the physics, except...? What's that, said the grizzled old veteran? Younger man said simply, why were they hauling a train load of coal BACK to the mountains???

That is the way I feel every time I try to calculate the power points. Looks great, until I see the correct totals.

A sad, side note to the true story above. The older guy died of a heart attack two weeks after I took the course from him. He was only 36. I heard he died at a fire scene. Life is precious guys. Don't waste a minute of it.

True story - sometime back in the early-mid 90's, the Roanoke Times did a story called something like Carrying Coal To New Castle (tried looking for it online but can't find it anywhere) that said utilities were having coal shipped here FROM overseas (China or Columbia) because it was cheaper than the local coal. Did a paper on it around '95 while at Radford. I did find a report from '14 that basically says it was still happenong then.

I could be wrong but I thought the year we lost to Gretna, we were number 1 and we would have hosted until the title game if we had won. I can’t find the data right now but I am almost positive about it.
