Thanks for this post Wikki. There is no rhyme or reason for any of the violence going on in todays society.Prayers from all the area high school football fans for all the officers being ambushed
You made a huge comment by posting "no comment"! Was it because of the prayer or hatred for men in blue? Based on your prior post I would hope it was your disdain for religion. If not may GOD have mercy on your soul.No comment.
Prayer had nothing to do with it. You said it was the communities lack of respect for authority that is the sole reason for all this mess. I say, it's authorities lack of respect for the community that is the sole reason. You made a huge comment by posting "no comment"! Was it because of the prayer or hatred for men in blue? I don't see where he said it was the sole reason. And anybody who talks in absolutes really sets themselves up to be questioned. The cops have been in the wrong in certain places IMO, however, so has the community. It is inflamed rhetoric from idiots on both sides of the argument who deal in absolutes that prevents a productive discussion and resolution of the matter. If you think the violence against police officers is the public saying enough is enough you are mistaken, at best or a part of the problem as well, at worst. The violence against police officers is essentially a small faction of the public with neither the intelligence nor the mental capacity to effect change and influence thought in a reasonable manner. This can only be resolved when the majority of the public decides enough is enough and exhibits the will to hold the police accountable when they are in the wrong and, just as importantly, quits making excuses to defend aberrant behavior due to perceived past injustices.Prayer had nothing to do with it. I certainly do not endorse any kind of violence against law enforcement and the families do have my sympathies for this tragedy. Killing is never a solution. But I do not expect this trend to diminish. Frankly, I expect escalation. I am certainly against that but this is where law enforcement has placed themselves. The public is saying enough is enough. Listen.

Preach on....Coming from a young 22 year old black man, whos been pulled over at least 7 times since I've had my license (fender bender included), I can honestly say I've never had one bad run in with the police. Of the 7 times I've been pulled over, I was speeding or breaking a law. Not once have any officer disrespected me or said anything out the way to me. These officers have a job to serve and protect us.. Now like BleedingNavy stated, there are some bad apples, but for the most part, if you show them respect, then they'll show you respect. If you're belligerent and question authority, then unfortunately, bad things happen to you like the tragic events in New York and Missouri. Now no way am I justifying the police's actions but more or less more understanding on why those tragic events took place. My question to black people is why go after innocent police officers when we have black men and women killing each other everyday? Don't Black Lives Matter then too? You can't have it both ways I don't get it. Society is in a terrible shape. Everything is built on race.. At the end of the day, we're all brothers and sisters.. Black, White, Latino, Muslim, Atheists, Christian.. We're all children of the higher being. It's time America wakes up.

That 50 year old quote is true. Families are the most important creator of moral ethics. I agree.Shanti, I did say " the lack of respect for authority is the sole problem". It has evolved over time in our homes, schools and community. Please see the following quote. I am not the only one who has felt this way.
“No amount of law enforcement can solve a problem that goes back to the family.“
– J. Edgar Hoover
That's still the goal of 99% of today's police force....the others are the ones you see on TVThat 50 year old quote is true. Families are the most important creator of moral ethics. I agree.
I also agree with the Officer that came to career day when I was 10. His goal was to serve the public and never pull his gun.
That is not today's police force
And on every episode of CopsThat's still the goal of 99% of today's police force....the others are the ones you see on TV
I got my butt kicked twice, (in the 8th grade), in the same fight for that very reason. The guy wearing me out wanted to stop, but the "circle of friends" kept egging him on. So your example is a perfect analogy. I got the bruises, the boy pounding on me was embarrassed, and the ones in the circle got off Scott free.We all remember High School days when fights broke out. Some times there are people on the periphery that keep pushing people into the fight ring even if the principles are reluctant to keep fighting. We need to be suspect of those we thought were our friends and want to keep pushing us back into the fight.
Just sayin......
Thank you gentlemen for your kind words.. Forgive me for my rants lol I'm a sociology major so I love discussions like thisFor only being 22, DSH has more wisdom than many on this board.
Thanks Bleeding Navy, you are well respectedGood stuff guys. I dont praise Danville as a black man, but as a man. Sounds like many of us had parents taught us the values that this country was founded on. God bless America.
I think I've watch that show 3 times.....they should all get s.....well, you knowAnd on every episode of Cops
Or at the very least...more wisdom than ONE....For only being 22, DSH has more wisdom than many on this board.
Nicely said DHS....now slow it down...no need for you to be pulled over that many times! LOL! Sorry, my youngest son is your age and I've given him that "slow it down" speech more than once! My parents told me that if I ever got a speeding ticket while on their insurance, I would have to get my own after that!Nicely said DHS....now slow it down...no need for you to be pulled over that many times! LOL!!! Hey I'm very grateful to say that even though I've been pulled over that many times that I've never had a speeding tickets. A couple of parking tickets, thanks to me not paying attention to the signs around VCU and Richmond City, but noting too serious lol.. But in all seriousness, thank you! I'm thankful that my hardcore Marine father taught me right from wrong. Used to think, why is this crazy cat on me so hard, but as I grow older and see the same people I wanted to hang with, that he wouldn't let me hang with, constantly in trouble and constantly being caught up in "ignorance"!Nicely said DHS....now slow it down...no need for you to be pulled over that many times!
