Game Recap Prince George Wins Two

Prince George remained perfect on the year earning two wins at War Memorial Stadium in Hampton. The Royals trailed in both games but won each game convincingly.

They defeated the Denbigh Patriots 11-4 by scoring the final eight runs of the game. Prince George pounded out 17 hits led by Tevin Tucker who went 4 for 5 from the plate while scoring three runs. Tucker Majetic had three hits in three at buts and drove in three runs. Justin Starke, Jonathan Walton, Evan Kozen, and Jordan Lowe all had multiple hits.

Kozen singled with the bases loaded to break a 4-4 tie in the 4th inning. Majetic singled to left field scoring two more runs for a 6-4 lead. The Royals scored four more runs in the 6th inning.

After about 20 minutes rest, the Royals needed only six innings to beat the Hampton Crabbers 16-4. They added 14 more hits and used a big 8-run 6th inning to activate the mercy rule. The Royals trailed 2-0 after the Crabbers Jordan McCray laced a 2-run double to center field. But Prince George scored five runs in the top half of the 2nd inning to take the lead for good.

Justin Clarke cleared the bases with a double in the 2nd inning. Clarke drove in two more runs with a 6th inning double. He finished the game going 4 for 4 with six RBI and three doubles. Tucker Majetic finished with three hits including two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored. Evan Kozen also had two hits, two RBI, two runs scored and three stolen bases.

Buck Forbes, Hunter Carden and Jonathan Walton combined for eight strikeouts while allowing only two earned runs.
