Pulaski (9-1) vs. Amherst (6-4)

I like the Amherst staff, and I have it out for Pulaski right now as they started some rumors last week. However, I do believe it will be one of the better 1st round games.
If Amherst is healthy with Page and QB they will beat Pulaski. Should be one of the better games on Friday
Last week some “reporter” from Pulaski started a rumor about LT being out of the playoffs because we had to forfeit games for using ineligible players and recruiting kids. All lies, but then when confronted some Pulaski players started talking a lot of trash and being real disrespectful towards our kids. Just a real messed started by someone with some sort of agenda and not really informed.
Salem saw both as bookend games but you're talking about 18 new starters against Amherst and those same kids 10 weeks later against Pulaski so it's very hard to say. Amherst also seemed to change some personnel after the first game or two of their season, I believe.
Amherst seems more prone to inconsistent play. Pulaski, minus the Salem game, was steady all year. Pulaski won't knock your socks off if you aren't a bad team but they've shown the ability to win close games against evenly matched teams. Amherst is sort of all over the place and it's hard to get a read on them. If they decide they want to play it could be anything from a close game to a solid win for Amherst. If they mess about and let Pulaski sap the clock on long drives then they could struggle mightily.
All in all this is probably your best round one game and I could see it going either way. As it's in Pulaski I think that's where I'll lean but neither result will surprise me. I'm sure both are chomping at the bit for another go at Salem, should set the grounds for another packed stands. Also if Amherst wins they will play Salem 3 times in 13ish games(both teams open next year at Salem).

LT pays attention to Social Media? I'm surprised. When a tree falls in the forest and no one is there, it does make a noise. Philosophy class be damned. When someone posts in Social Media and no one is there, there is silence.
When people are contacting you social media saying the VHSL has ruled you out the playoffs you want to get to the bottom of it. The VHSL they were referring to was VHSL-Reference which has no affiliation to the VHSL. Again had to set the record straight before someone believed that mess.
I told them we can play them next cycle 2017-18 and we'll come to them in 17 so that gives them enough time to fundraise for a trip to Norfolk in 18. The guy got mad and said I was calling them poor. I don't know where that screams poor but that was the final straw I ended that conversation.
I agree if healthy Amherst will win..This is 1 game I will gladly not attend though..
DEVILSLB99 - I wouldn't get to worked up over all that mess. Example: Here is a quote from the local paper from last week "Make no mistake about it, the Pulaski County Cougar football team is the lowest ranked and most underrated undefeated football team in Group 4A football and above."
They aren't going to even entertain the idea of playing you. They are plenty happy with the schedule they have, they won't take off Bassett or Franklin County to add you guys.

If schools were more open nowadays about playing games at neutral sites (for example, a location that has a bye that week), we'd probably see a lot more cross-state match ups.
Just to be clear, the above quote was from one of my stories. Not sure what your problem is with it, as it is factually accurate. The Cougars had the lowest rating for an undefeated team in Group 4A and above. If you had went on to read more of my articles you would have seen where I pointed out the fact that this was caused by the other teams on our schedule doing very poorly this season. I gave their records and it was not good.
If you're going to talk about stories from newspapers you should cite who wrote them and give the whole story. I have no clue what the other comments/rumors are about concerning LT. I haven't mentioned them in any stories.
I don't think that J-Mac has a problem with the quote or story at all, he was using as evidence to say that Pulaski is not taking a game with Lake Taylor.
Also, you were not the "reporter" who caused the twitter war.
