"Well known in his hometown of Tappahannock, Virginia for his gift with music, Jerrell Golden took his passion for rapping and ran with it the first time he stepped foot into the studio in 2002. Little did he know his passion would become his purpose, and the music he was making would later be the catalyst in his mission.
From being the oldest son of two, to a husband and now proud father of 2 kids, Jerrell is committed in being a positive role model for his family as well as those he comes in contact with. He’s been told by people of all ages that his music gives them “life” and a sense of “hope”. Jerrell says, “My music is my life and my life revolves around my faith in God. My goal is to be as transparent as possible with my music and to let people know who I am and what I stand for unashamedly. I am determined on sharing God’s word in a way they can digest it.” Jerrell has been making his own music for 15 years, and have been performing for over a decade. He is no stranger to large audiences as he placed 3rd in the B.E.T Rising Star Competition in 2012 and recently opened for TobyMac at Kings Dominion’s annual event, “KingsFest”, in 2016.
During the summer of 2017, Jerrell released his self-titled project “Jerrell Golden”, which is being circulated and streamed all throughout the world. You can purchase this project at iTunes, Google Play, Amazon Music, stream it on Spotify, or any other digital outlet. This project features songs such as the gospel trap record “Dat Bla Bla”, the heartfelt “Humble”, and the bouncing “BYOB (Bring Your Own Bible)”. “It is certainly a project for all aspects of life”, Jerrell says, “the churched as well as the unchurched”.
