Quantico 8 man football

Disappointing! As I say, as the private schools go the public schools will follow. It will be interesting to see how many public schools drop to this stuff. Lets revisit in 5 years and see where we're at.

8 man is basically just line up and chuck the ball deep every play. So if you like arena ball or 70-64 scores then you'll love this style. Meh.

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot won an 8 man state championship last year running the single wing. I'm admittedly not a huge fan of 8 man football, but at least it gives these small schools a chance to have a team and play. For ones like Rappahannock County and Chincoteague it will give them a chance to be competitive after years of getting beat handily in 11 man football

Chincoteague I sort of get. Sort of. But Rappahannock County sits at around 300 students and sorely needs better leadership.

BS-H was winning titles in the private ranks not that long ago and they're definitely the exception to the norm as far as the backyard football mentality in 8 man goes. Good for them.

The irony is the school that pushed 8 man to be the "next greatest thing ever guise" was STAB. And they're back playing 11 man now. They were pushing all the small private schools in their area to go 8 man a while back.

Virginia is one of the last states to realize they need an alternative for small schools who still want to play football instead of giving up like a couple of publics did. Thankfully they are both back. 300 kids don't mean you have a great deal of FB players.
