I wanted to know what the concession stand was like, what food is served. I'm contemplating making the trip to watch my Clarke County Eagles team, and I'm all about the food and the band! Thank you!

It's been about 3 years since I was out in Little Washington to catch a game. They have no band, at least not at any of the games I've been to. I pay no attention to concessions at games but from what I recall they were grilling out the last time I was there. Hamburgers and possibly chicken, but once again that was years ago now and I wasnt paying much attention to it. Wish I could help you out more.

Unless things have changed, be prepared for an..um.. different game experience. They had a Mom doing the play by play ("come on son, momma loves you") and the coaches were either A) sitting on the bench relaxing during the game or B) chatting with the fans in the stands. Once again, that was years ago and hopefully things have changed.

Rapp Co. used to have an exceptional (albeit small) marching band less than 10 years ago. Wonder if they just weren’t present the night you attended.

No band?????!!!!! What do they play football on then without a marching field?:D:rolleyes:

I go to Little Washington every once in a while, I hear they have a nice little restaurant.:);) Maybe I'll stop there to fill up before the game.

WP02, I've been to at least 4 games that I recall out there and I've never seen a band. But I do believe you when you say they have one and it's very possible they just werent there on those nights.

ClarkeFan83 have a safe trip out there. Let me know how things are at their games if you dont mind. I'd love to hit more of their games but it is such a bear trying to get there from where I live now. Same with Quantico.

Nah, I’m not sure if they have one now or not. Just remember going to a game around 2010 and the band was only about 30 strong, but sounded great.

30? That's a full orchestra for a 1A school, lol. Off subject just a little but in 2011 Virginia High brought their band when they played Riverheads in the playoffs and they were outstanding. I personally don't care one way or the other but when they are good it does add to the game. When they are bad, its a bit painful.

I've seen some really good bands in the Valley this year. Wilson's is always good (although I haven't seen them this year), Draft, and Fort. Broadway's might be the best I've seen. Precision marching, talented musicians. I have mad respect for the band. Marching band helped put me through college.

I remember West Point bringing their band to the Altavista game back in 09 and I thought they sounded really good. Especially considering the elements that day.

If you guys love good marching bands and live close to DC I highly advise checking out the Memorial Day parade at some point. ~40 bands from all over the nation and they rock. Ballou High out of DC is freaking awesome. And then there are the Texas High School bands that are like 200-300 members strong or more. Seen a band there from Honolulu a couple years ago as well.

While I can't vouch for the number this year, Lancaster High School's band numbers are typically in the 80s. They've performed overseas and in a couple big College Bowl games (Orange Bow/Peach Bow (Chic-filA now?) Bowl)

I gotta say, those grilled chicken sandwiches were legit! And the walking tacos were also great. The highlight of the evening though was Rappahannock County's announcer! That guy was AWESOME!! He had energy, a killer tune playlist, and a voice made for announcing and doing commercials! First time I've ever been to RCHS, other than the cold, it was a great evening. Hot running water in the bathrooms, which were also well heated, air dryers for hands...Just no marching band.:(

Thats great to hear! I wish I could make it out to more games but it is such a bear trying to get out of this traffic on Friday afternoons. I've always felt like there is so much potential at that school, for athletics and otherwise. Kudos to them for playing a district schedule this year. Do they still only have seating on one side of the stadium?

Yep, one side of the stadium seating. First time I've been to a game like that.
