I got a look at Lee yesterday for part of the Buffalo Gap scrimmage . Lee is really big and a lot of speed . Did anyone out there watch it ? If so I would like to here what you think . Riverheads has their hands full next week in their opener @ Lee . The Red Team looks very small and may not match up to a team twice their size .

Talked to some fans while watching the Wilson scrimmage tonight that were there and was told they were not impressed with Lee as they were handled by an undersized BG team. Size matters if they have hands and feet, if not it can be a detriment. Big Red is not so big this year but tomorrow's scrimmage will give a little more insight as Rockbridge is in a down cycle.

Seen a few chinks in the armour for Wilson tonight. Speed kills and the edge for the local teams will be exploited by the faster teams they face.

Can't wait for the lights to come on next Friday night. Good luck to all the local teams( unless the are facing the Big Red Machine)#RollPride

While I'm not happy with most the results from last night I am happy that these young men were provided a wake up call before the start of the season.

Too many missed tackles, and our oline still needs some time to gel. Typical early season problems for a team replacing so much. I look forward to the year and seeing them improve.

Wait a second here....I thought I read not too long ago in post made by you that stated something to fact that the one benefit of having a season like WM had last year was the "seconds" got some valuable playing time. Yet from what I understand, the offense has scored one time this off season? And a second team at that?

They did get valuable experience. But they still need time to gel. Once our offensive line comes together things will be okay. There's a reason you do things such as a benefit game an it's to learn weaknesses and things you need to improve on.

Improvement will be made and we will be okay in Fishersville. It may take a little longer than some are used to but we will be fine

We have a lot more than one week to improve. The best teams don't reach their peak til November and December sir. If you don't improve between now and then you are in trouble

Wilson will get their line figured out and be ok. I am a little biased toward the Red team but admit Wilson has a few parts that look good. They will need to figure out how to block cause I don't see the break away speed they had but it is a long season so unless the team implodes they will build and be fine down the road.

There is no doubt Waynesboro is legit and deserving of the hype this year. You still have to play the games and ultimately that's where the talking stops. As Mike Tyson said once, "everybody has a plan until they get hit in the mouth".

I hate that I seem to be defending Wilson but I suppose I am. This will be their test year, if they can survive losing the talent they did and reload, they will continue their run. If not they will be another example of how important it is to build depth. Again they have some very good players but the bulk of the O-line couldn't have seen the field much last year. Their freshman RB is very good and will only get better. I don't see another class like the last one on the horizon though so it will take coaching and an ability to put the right pieces in place.

I wish all area teams success except Red week. #RollPride

I didn't make it to the scrimmage, but I heard similar things. People seemed to be more impressed with the Bison than the Leemen. The Leemen had more speed but Gap apparently outperformed them, according to a number of folks. I try not to get to wrapped up in scrimmage results, but from what I have seen and heard through this point, I think Riverheads has to be the favorite by 2+ scores going into next week, but big games can bring out the best (or worst) in teams and I'm hoping the Leemen bring their A game to make the first matchup between these two a good one!

I'm not sure why my above post, posted the way it did, but here it is.
