Radford Bobcats held off a solid Floyd County team after a late run in the 4th qtr to take the W. Bobcats were let by Cam Cormany with 27 points on 9 of 15 from the floor. he was 5 of 7 from 3 pt line. Alex Kanipe had a quiet 19 points including 3 of 6 from long range and added 5 boards. Freshman Landon Clark also chipped in 11 points including 3 from behind the arc. Floyd was led by hot shooting Bond who had 18 points and Tanyon Sutphin with 17 pts. Bobcats got the lead to as much as 19 in the 3rd quarter but Floyd was able to break the Radford double teams and hit the wide open 3s to keep it close. Floyd also lost Sutphin late in the game to a wrist injury. He tried to tough it out but was not able to finish the game.
Floyd has a really good starting 5 but not much depth. If Sutphin is out for a while it would really hurt this team. Radford has more scoring threats this year with the addition of the 3 freshman. They can go 8 or 9 deep without losing much.
