Rapp @ Essex

Doesn't get much better than two rivalry teams meeting up in the second round of the playoffs. I am sure these guys have been battling against each other since little leagues and know everything there is to know about one another. And you better bet Rapp thinks the last game of the regular season was a fluke and this time will be a different story. I am sure these guys will be fired up come Friday night for both squads. Each team may be competing against some friends and family, but once the ball gets kicked off at 7 pm, there is only two families. One in purple, the other in red.

I know the new playoff system hasn't been around long, which gives us an opportunity for this matchup, but can anyone recall the last time Essex and Rapp played in a playoff game against one another?

I don't recall these teams meeting in the playoffs but I'm sure they have. Essex was in D2 for a long time, so it would be before that. Looking forward to the game this Friday. Missed the first game between these teams. I'm interested to see what adjustments these teams make for this match up.

It's the first time.........

Under the previous system, (1986-2010) Essex was Division 2 (with the exception of one year) and Rappahannock Division 1 so there was no chance of them meeting with the exception of that one season Essex was D1. Under the original system, (1970-1985), Essex made the playoffs twice (1981 and 1984) and Rappahannock once (1976).
