Rappahannock Times big High School Football Preview is Out

I was on the way back from Warsaw and just stopped by the Handy Store in Tappahannock. I am glad of that as I picked up my copy of Chris Rose's excellent local football preview. This great Sports extra is Rose's 37th Annual Northern Neck and Tidewater High School High School Preview.

12 High Schools are covered in detail with stories, photos, schedules, team pics, last year's results and so on. The schools are:

King and Queen, Essex, Washington and Lee, Rappahannock Raiders, Northumberland, Lancaster, West Point, Middlesex, Mathews, Charles City, Colonial Beach, and King William.

This takes tremendous work and we are fortunate to have such superb coverage!

Rapp Times also has a preview of the # 6 Essex v # 3 Sussex Central battle this Friday (what is really a battle of two Virginia's top four teams imo).

Congrats to King & Queen on their new scoreboard! K&Q has made drastic improvements the last few years in academics and athletics. Well done!

Northumberland gets a vote to win the NND (Essex gets the rest, of course)!

The NHS players profiles (3 for each school) are Christian Headley, Delvin Palmer and Colin Chinn. Great job to Lewis with his strong large staff.

Essex has pic of Coach Jones and players Hundley, Dameron, Johnson, Gray, and Harris.

Three teams get 1st place votes for the Tidewater.

Lastly, Girl's Volleyball begins tonight! Volleyball has grown pretty big around here. I must say it can get very exciting indeed!

Volleyball action - Rappahannock goes to Middlesex, Northumberland to Northampton and Surry to Essex.
