Two unbeaten teams with convincing wins. Both have scored a lot of points. Will both be the best team the other has played? Essex is always a state championship contender and had a big win over a larger school. Rappahannock has scored 70 in two games and won big over Westmoreland in the game where they opened their new stadium. Seems like this will be a good one. What does everyone think?

From my mini research Essex should win but I do think they have not had a real game all year. Rappahannock may shock them like Alabama was shocked this past weekend.

Calpreps predicts a 40 to 38 win for Essex and a 57% chance of Essex winning the game.

Well, Essex played this same non-district schedule last year as well as district play and was state runner-up with the majority of the staters being sophomores & juniors. Not to mention, having to learn a new offense that fit the personnel that they have. That same underclassman team beat Rapp 52-7 last year. Rapps non district schedule is as weak as Essex. Essex did get to scrimmage 3A York (3-2) and 3A Armstrong (5-0) and handled business with their 1st sting.

All this hype about Rappahannock reminds me of the Northumberland hype the past few years and those Northumberland teams were better than Rapps current team. I just don’t see where Rapp is making up 45 points when Essex has pretty much the same team. Who’s knows it might be 52-21 this year.

1st Point I will make is that this year has nothing to do with last year in terms of Rapps squad. They have added a few players that were not on their roster from last year including the regions Top Rusher Kenneth Maddison. 2nd thing is you said in an earlier post that Essex toughest opponent until States was Tabb or King William lol 3rd point is I have yet to see someone "Hype" Rappahannock on here and everyone from the pick'em has picked Essex to win. 4th and final point is Rapp has 2 teams on from their non district schedule that are over .500 and Essex has 0. One over a 4-1 2A Nelson County team. I get being confident in Essex but the dismissiveness is funny. Praying for exciting game Friday folks

Good post. Nelson County is a real decent football team. If they were C1, they’d be a contender.

You left out that I also included Armstrong in those scrimmages….theres also a guy on Essex who hasn’t played a 2nd half of football this year, lost a game of stats with the KQ forfeit and didn’t play after the 1st quarter last week that would like something to say about rushing yards in the region.

No I didn't leave that out. I was referencing the difference from Rapps team this year than last year. So if you want to talk about your guy then by all means do that, I wish him the best.
