RE Lee 38 Buffalo Gap 34 FINAL

Lee 14 Gap 15 Halftime

Lee is struggling to get a ground game going and the deep pass is not working. Missed tackles on defense.

Gap is doing what they do. Selective pass plays have worked.

This sounds like this was a good game. I believe this game puts Luray as team to beat in Shenandoah although I believe the champion will have 1 or 2 losses.

Tonight was one if the better regular season games I've seen in a long time. Both teams gave everything they had and neither deserved to lose.

Gap has a good team, but the difference to me was Lee QB Jayden Williams. He struggled a little in the first half, but found his rhythm in the second half and executed a perfect drive that led to the game winning score. His receivers and oline deserve a ton of credit too, as they are doing their part to keep the offense rolling. As for Jayden's impact, I think he's also the one who laid the hit that caused the BG receiver to drop the pass on their last drive, when they really looked like theyd score and come away with the victory. To me, that hit/play ended the game even though they still had one or two more plays left.

I want to tip my cap to the Bison players and their fanbase. I underestimated that team after seeing their results the past 2 weeks. They play with a chip on their shoulders and they have two of the best players in the area in Carter Rivenburg and Jay Johnson. The fanbase was very impressive, and I saw a number of them congratulating and conversing with Lee parents and players after the game. Very classy group.

Excellent game and despite the final score, there actually was some good defense for both teams. It was a contrast in styles. Lee was bigger and faster across the board. Operating out of the spread, they sliced and diced their way through the defense. Gap demonstrated better fundamentals, sure tackling, and outstanding play calling. Gap as a team may be slower but don't be fooled, they had perhaps the two fastest players on the field. Both teams had an opportunity to run their two minute drill and both were very efficient. I was quite impressed.

I came away impressed as well. Gap is a much more athletic team than I thought they were
