When will the AD's decide on the amount of teams who make it to the post season in this area? I hope they are smart enough to realize that 4 is to small given the amount of teams. If they don't want to do 8 then it should be at least 6. Anyone has any insight?

It should be 8.

Is that 8 for just football or all sports? Don't forget all playoffs (tournaments) start at the regional level next school year.

It will be interesting to see all of the different formats, for the different regions, across the various sports.

I expect football to be a vast majority eight team format. Of course, some regions don't even have 8 schools that play football, so there will some differences.

Am I correct in saying this? The Regions only have three weeks/games to name a regional champ?

8 play down to 4, 4 play down to 2, 2 play down to a regional champ, and the regional champ goes on to play another regional champ for the right to go to the state championship game?

As far as the other sports, it's wide open. There will be opportunities in some regions to include all schools in the playoffs in certain sports. Some may chose to have a play-in game or two.

And then you have tennis, wrestling, golf, swimming, track, and so forth. These sports will probably follow a very similar format of what takes place nowadays.

Interesting times ahead. I can hardly wait.

12 just seems nonsensical when it comes to a sport like baseball unless they plan to play it over a two week period which I guess is certainly a possibility with district/conference tourneys a thing of the past.
