A lot of schedules are up on MaxPreps. I know there are typically several mistakes at this time of year but just some notable games going through each team in region A.
Northern Neck
W&L opening up with Riverheads on 8/30
CB also plays Riverheads on 9/27
Essex vs King William 9/13
Rapp vs West Point 9/13
No shortage of tough scheduling there except...
Essex, CB and Lancaster are all scheduled to play Charles City who didn't field a team last year.
Northumberland got away from the private schools and have an interesting matchup with Buckingham on 10/4

Tidewater
Middlesex and Matthews will play twice, Middlesex will also play King and queen twice and not play King William.
West point vs Rapp on 9/13 still sticks out as one to see
King and queen will play Windsor on 9/6 and will still play King William to end the season which is interesting.
Charles City doesnt have a page but they appear on several other pages, hopefully they field a team.

Eastern Shore
Northampton vs Altavista on 10/11. Odd matchup.
Chincoteague vs Middlesex 9/13

Be here before we know it!

While I as not privy to any conversations, I do know Essex encountered difficulties in finding a 10th game and Charles City was pretty much the only school willing to fill that void. There were rumors of Stuarts Draft possibly being an opponent and I understand that AltaVista waved them off saying it was too long of a distance to make economical sensne and turned around and scheduled Northampton!!!

Interesting - I read that as a long trip for Altavista to Essex (and then most likely get whipped) does not make economical sense.

However, an even way longer trip to Northampton that may produce a solid victory, well...hmm... that does indeed make economical sense.

Added Charles City.... So what non-district school ( Sussex, Franklin, Thomas Jefferson or Surry) will not be on Essex schedule this year?

In other Region A news, word I have heard is that Northumberland's QB Mason Adams has drawn some interest in him from a couple Division I - FCS footballs schools (Virginia Military Institute, James Madison University- 2016 FCS National Champs) and some smaller schools like Randolph-Macon.

Adams and his Coach Aaron Lewis will be practicing soon I am sure with 7v7 and other prep work as they get that chemistry down with a new crop of NHS athletes.

Coach Lewis will have to wait a bit more until Adams finishes playing for the successful Northumberland Soccer team who is currently tied for third in Region A heading soon to the playoffs.

1st year soccer player Adams has performed well mainly on D, but has scored some goals as well showing his athleticism and versatility so wisely valued by the college athletic world today.

See Rappahannock Times this week for pic of Adams playing v Essex.

Wonder if he would have gotten those looks (VMI/JMU) if he stayed at CF?

Max Preps doesn't have the entire schedule for Essex up, but for non district games, it currently shows them playing Sussex, Surry, King William and Charles City. I looked at Thomas Jefferson's schedule and theirs is full, so it looks like they might be the one. Franklin only has a few games listed on their schedule at this point. I'm sure others probably know the exact schedule for sure though.

I heard Charles City will not have a football program again this year. I could be wrong though...

Welp, at least now Essex can get working NOW on filling that expected hole in the schedule.

A lot of schools had a tough time fielding football teams last year. I wonder if that trend will continue? Old school me still can't understand what is happening to high school football.

Both VMI and JMU were in the area visiting all the NND schools by the recruiter, so interests were simply coincidental

Thanks, was just curious if Mason’s playing time at CF would have been sufficient enough to draw D1 interest. I don’t know their depth chart pre-transfer, but I was under the impression he wasn’t their QB1.
