Do anyone know if riverheads is considering scheduling Franklin or Sussex for regular season games next year. I know its early but riverheads got this season in the bag they will be a tough out in the playoffs. Although anything can happen but its highly unlikely the red team lose again this year.

I don’t know about the schedule for next year but there is ALOT of football left to be played. I only need to look back to the phenomenal playoff run that Galax had in 2015 to see that the underdog can and does win. I still see 6 teams that have a legitimate shot at hoisting the trophy.

Im glad your a humble guy but the rest of 1A doesn't stand a chance you all destroy central in the rain and wind I would hate to have seen the score under perfect conditions I know you are right anyone can be beat but as of right now it do not look good for 1A football I ride hard for Franklin broncos but at the end of the day I know we got to come see riverhead. If ford didn't break his collarbone I would be more optimistic. But it dont look good

Don’t sleep on Chilhowie. They returned most of last year’s team and have avenged all of their losses from last year...except one so far.

Last I heard with the new district schedule next year they were having problems scheduling non-district games next year. There was even talk of a private school from Pennsylvania wanting to play them. So maybe if they cant find anybody to fill the non-district slots they would consider Franklin or Sussex. Would be a heck of a trip for a reg season game but an interesting thought.

Not sure what kind of game the Warriors would give Riverheads , But right now I think the Big Red could beat VT the way they looked last night . lol

Its hard to beat a team when you dont have film against them and we may play once every 5+ years or so it would make the post season more interesting if a team could right there wrongs during the regular season to be ready in the playoffs im just saying this is my opinion

Nothing against Chilhowie but after watching last years State Championship game IMO Galax is the only team out of C/D that has a chance. I think Galax is the C/D representative this year. Dont think Galax is going to give the semi-final game away 2 years in a row.

I agree tough playing against that offense if you only see it every couple of years. Defense has to be really disciplined to stop it unless you have superior athletes to take out the blockers like Galax did in 2015. They had that Spurlin kid or should I say man because thats what he was and he dominated our blockers.

With East Rock, Stonewall, Luray, and Page leaving for the Bull Run, there are some open slots to be scheduled. As Goat said, it doesn't make financial sense to travel to the Tri-Rivers. I expect some of the Bull Run teams will remain on the schedule as non-district games. I think Riverheads-Rockbridge County might be intriguing. There's history there too.

Spurlin was a phenomenal athlete. I have never seen anyone as versatile as he was. He played fullback one year, center the next, blocking back another year. And dominated at each position. If you have access to Huddle look up Steven Peoples and watch Spurlin blocking for him. He is playing at App State currently on the D line and is having a very good year.
