As far as I know, the 4 Regions in Class 3 have NOT officially decided to send 8 teams to the playoffs. I have no information on which to base this, but an 8 team per region seems like a logical choice.

Assuming this will be the format, pick the 8 teams that YOU think will be playoff bound after 10 regular season games. I know that this can be a little tough, since only about 1/3 of the teams have released their full schedules.

Pick your teams in order of #1 to #8. And keep this in mind when you rank your teams, VHSL points!
A 6-4 team could well be ranked #2 or #3 because of points.

And, pick one, and only one #9 wildcard team that you think could very well make the playoffs if the stars line up.

This list is in alphabetical order, and comes from the VHSL website.

This region will be very competitive come playoffs. Each team in my top 5 returns their QB and Heritage has the best player IMO, Elijah Davis, which is why I give them the top spot. Monticello was very young last year and improved a lot down the stretch, I'm expecting them to be back in hunt for the Jefferson and making noise in the region playoffs with Jarrell, Ayers, Haverstrom being as good a QB-RB-WR trio as you'll find in this region, Talbert in the trenches and Porterfield are also football players! Brookville & Western are programs, they'll always be in the playoff converstation. They both need to find more consistent defense if they want to make any noise. Rustburg loses a lot but still has a few standouts returning, will they have enough support is the question? Spotswood, Waynesboro and TA all had solid seasons last year and the Valley seems to be improving after having some down years as a whole recently. I'd expect 1 of the 3 Valley schools to finish in the top 4 but I don't know enough about each of them as a whole to know which one.

I don't know if I agree with the predictions that TA will be in the mix. I think a lot of good athletes graduated. And, a new coach? Not a formula for success. But, we shall see.

Good to hear from you One Man. I hope you have been having a good off season with your kids. Does Lacrosse still compete with the weight training schedule for the football team?

The boys are working. With so many spring sports, practice schedules vary for each sport. Sometimes you practice right after school and sometimes you get the late practice at 6. We always lift/condition right after school so occasionally we get some of our multi-sport guys working with us. Under 100 days until Camp. Spring ball is right around the corner though.
