Last year, a great season for the Gladiator JVs was spoiled by a pounding they took up at Luray. I think the score was something like 36-6.

Well tonight, the teams met at Riverheads and the Junior G'men came out on top 32-8. Just like we have come to expect from both our teams, the key to the win was the execution of the running game. The Big Red utilized the same depth and offense that the varsity has and every time the opponent started to key on one ball carrier they went to another one.

However, having said that, the game tonight was all about 8th grader Bryson Fulton (not 100% sure I have the name right.) He scored three of RHS' four TDs, including one in which he leaped over the defense at about the five yard to make sure he made it into the end zone. Also the Big Red opened things up just a little bit tonight through the air waves as a nice 25 yard pass play led to one score and they used the pass to score one of their two-point conversions.

Speaking of those, the Gladiators were a perfect 4 for 4, and Luray also added one when they avoided the shutout with a 50-yard run in the final minute of the game. The Gladiators will travel to Buffalo Gap next Wednesday.

Just received a memo from RHS telling me that next week's JV game at Buffalo Gap is a Thursday game, not a Wednesday. Most of you probably already knew that. Sorry for my assumption in this post.
