The Gladiators needed a confidence boost after their narrow lost to Rocktown and got it tonight with a decisive 56-40 road win over the James River Knights. Actually the game was not even that close as the Big Red jumped out in front early and led by as many as 26 in the second half. JR was able to whittle it down in the final few minutes by inserting a guy (number 24 is all I can tell you since there were no rosters available) who drained three long-range triples to close the gap. His sudden surge most likely left fans on both sides wondering "Why is he just now getting into the game?"
The Knight fans also got a charge out of their tiny little point guard (# 5) who did his best to harass Riverheads' ball-handlers, even though he stands about 5'2" at the most. He will be entertaining to watch when JR makes the return visit to Greenville on the 17th.
The Gladiators scored first tonight on an inside bucket from Grayson Ward. Af
