I picked Varina back on August 4th. We shall see if I am right. I hated to pick against my guys at Phoebus but I just think that Varina's DL is slightly better than Phoebus' OL this year. Also, think that Varina has the edge at QB. I think Varina wins as long as it doesn't come down to the kicking game. If it does, then Phoebus wins.
I'm mad that I will have to miss this game in person this year! Some family in Fredericksburg decided to plan a holiday party on the same day as the State Championship football games. I will be tuned in to NFHS at the party LOL
Phoebus returns all of their lineman except for one. The line has played together for three years. I seriously doubt Varina DL is better and don't have more experience but that's why the games are played. I do like Wyhce but Banks is a dog too. Wyche is a better runner and Banks a better passer. Both can do both but again, experience matters. Is this the same DL that played against King George for Varina? King George beat them. Phoebus smacked King George last year. Alot of players return from that game. If Phoebus turns the ball over multiple times and can't control Wyche Varina will have their opportunity. But I believe Phoebus plays their game in all three phases. Varina goes as Wyche goes.

Yeah man they’re trying to silence a real story. This definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. They’ll allow people to 💩 on Overton and Hayfield but won’t allow people to see the real character behind the people doing it. Now there’s no accountability for what the coach said and we should move on. Black players should refuse to play for him anymore and i hope they lose by 50 a game next year for sure.

Varina played even with at least two teams that are not on Phoebus' level when it comes to defense. One is Highland Springs. Which was basically a shutout for the Phoebus' defense. The other is completely unacceptable. The Indian River Braves double overtime game. The Braves are not anywhere close to a state level defense by any stretch of the imagination and have not been for a very, very long time. You have to go back to their 17-10 loss to Hopewell for reference. The Varina Blue Devils have a few hiccups on their 2024 schedule. For example, can we explain the Forest Park & Hanover final scores and why they were not blow outs? Phoebus had that extremely bad half against the Bethel Bruins that turned into a rout in the 2nd half. They also should have beaten the Springers 42-0. The game, although sporadic, was very one-sided with Highland Springs being completely outmuscled. Phoebus has been getting flagged way too much this season and the Phantom offense will need to finish every drive with points. I would have liked to have seen 50+ against Sherando. Their offense was nonexistent.

Gotta throw all the past games out and remember Varina will play us harder than any of those teams. I watched them play Springs and i did see the things they tried to run against Phoebus work against Varina though.
I love the gameplan they have so far for Varina. They will do things on defense that are just not on film. Blunt is a mastermind. I know Bill Dee and Momma Blunt are looking down smiling.

Phoebus outgained King George 436 to 123 yards. KG had -29 yards rushing for the game. Phoebus had 3 turnovers and that kept the game close. So who’s the one just talking? Lol

I liked that KG team. The only criticism I have for them is that they were not prepared to get Physical by Olivia Newton-John. I can still hear their bodies talking after some of those earthquaking hits the Phantoms laid on them. Otherwise they were a very fast and athletic team.
