In a very defensive effort Rye Cove wins a hard fought game in Norton against the JI Burton Raiders. Rye Cove managed to hold JI Burton to just 124 yards offensively and had a few turnovers on the day. Most of Burton's yardage came thanks to Brayden Dutton who had 74 yards rushing and 32 receiving and the only touchdown for Burton. Burton's QB had a good arm, but it appeared on some throws his arm may have been too strong as he overthrew his receivers several dfferent times. The Eagles defense applied heavy pressure all night and may have rattled the Raiders' QB. Rye Cove relied heavily on QB Landon Lane tonight who had 99 rushing yards and 44 passing yards and accounted for two of The Eagles' three touchdowns tonight. Payton Darnell had the other touchdown for The Eagles tonight and had 60 rushing yards. Rye Cove will host Twin Springs next week for Senior Night and the final regular season game. Rye Cove also currently sits alone in first place for the Cumberland District with the win over Burton tonight. What a turn around this season has been for The Eagles of Rye Cove!
