Defense probably gave up 1 or 2 first downs.
Offense just so so. Had a number of chances in red zone but made mistakes and didn't score.

Not having the kicker for this week hurt a bit, think we would have just kicked a couple FGs on some of those early RZ gaffes. Wilson careless with a few throws (but threw some other passes quite well). Very sloppy play on offense, too many penalties but given that this is the second game in three days it's also not surprising. CS sold out to stop the run and they were punished decently for it but I think they could have leaned on the passing game even more. Also, become very evident that the O needs to get the ball into Greer's hands a few times a game, he has tremendous playmaking ability in the open field and if he can get established on tape as a real threat then that can make the D choose whether to focus on him or Logan, likely leaving the other guy just in single coverage. The funny thing about the score is since this team isn't really built for scoring quickly even if they had not messed with quite as much in the redzone I still think the final score could have been the same or maybe 42-0.

D gave up two first downs, I believe (hail mary rainbow throw with two minutes left in first half and another short pass across the middle). This is just such a good, focused D. Tackles exceedingly well, swarms the ball, just very well coached. After the 35 points to Martinsburg, they've surrendered just 41 points in the next six games and they're legitimately all due to a big play on each score. You take away a single play from PC, Cburg, and FC and Salem might have pitched five shutouts in a row.

Need to recoup and get ready, though. HV can either be put away early like Cburg did to them or they could hang around and be annoying. Bburg will obviously be the easy game but then they've got to be ready to close out the season against PH, #1 seed could be on the line.

Paper says CS 16 rushes for 5 yards, 16 passes for 30 yards, 1 first down. Not sure those are quite accurate but they're within the ballpark, CS definitely didn't approach even 75 yards of total offense.

Salem has a State Championship level defense. Unfortunately, they have an out in the second round offense.

Please explain why we have a second round out offense. Also, the score could have been worse, but Coach Holter is a class act. From what I understand the qb had not thrown an INT going back to last year. I’m just curious on your take

He's exaggerating slightly about the O but we do lack the killer TB. If Zavione was a senior this year I'd tell you to just put Salem's name on the title already. Losing Peyton Lewis also hurt a lot in this regard, I think he would have worked his way up to take the reins by now and he's going to be a phenomenal player.

Lingenfelter got hurt but he's been dressed for a few games now, not sure why he's not getting reps like he was in the first half of the season. Jones is just too slow. I thought after the FC game that maybe Barlow was going to move up and take over the starting job but that didn't happen yesterday. Cam is great, of course, but if we can't muscle up the middle against a team we need to be able to go outside and we just lack the speed and killer instinct at the spot right now and I tend to agree that it could catch up to us late in the POs. Wilson does well enough most games if not great and that's all Salem really requires out of its QBs anyway.

If Lewis wasn't hurt I think Salem would breeze until at least the semis. They're still highly capable of getting that far (and I think they will, the D is just too good) but beyond there it'll be dicey unless they figure out the TB situation. It's not like they haven't done this stuff either. It took a season-ending injury to unleash Ramsey on the poor teams he demolished in the POs and they switched QBs late last year to win state (who does that?) so it wouldn't surprise me if they do fix the problem, just saying it's not fixed right now.

I agree Lewis was a big loss offensively and defensively. The Salem staff is too good. They will figure it out.

One explosive player. Offense has to make zero mistakes and grind it out. Playoff teams will eventually stop that. Must get ball to 11 more often, not necessarily by the deep pass. Screen him, hand it to him, Go wildcat with him at QB. He needs to touch it more---only explosive player.

Coming 4 days after FB breaks 3 40+ yrd TD runs. 🤔. As long as you get 3-4 yards per play and have a good defense. You will be a contender.

Actually disagree that he is the only one. Due to his phenomenal returns and even on the play before half last night it's clear Greer should touch the ball on offense more often. A sweep package with Greer would produce substantial results imo.

You may not have seen much of him, but #17 Soph Chris Martin can make some big plays once JV season is over. Good WR and RB, just get him the ball.

I don't disagree. Get it in his hands also
