First of all it was about execution and you cannot change an entire offense. I disagree respectively with those who say that we could have did this or that. Salem tried to get to the outside. PH has athletes. They have Penn St committ Carmelo Taylor and probably 2 or 3 other division 1 athletes and tall receivers. PH wanted this and it was a hard hitting affair. We saw helmets flying and PH players being lifted off the field. I will not go to the cramping issues on five straight plays for PH. They played probably their best game of the year. They won it. Congrats.

Another good point. I agree you can't change who you are or the "offense,". Most of us just base our opinions on what Salem fans post especially their discontent. I have seen Salem play and it seems they can't figure out who they want to be. God knows the Spartans have been the baddest dude on the Class 4 planet for some time. It's just one loss. It takes a five game winning streak to get the job done.

Salem did nothing like they have the last 4 games. Last few games they were passing as much as running. They did none of that last night. Salem has utilized the spread, And they have utilized a single tight with 3 wide and a single back, all designed to spread the field. Didn’t untilze any of that last night. 95% run between the tackles. It’s like they used the same game plan they had against Martinsburg and Franklin County. Franklin should have won the game. So to say they can’t change the offense is kinda of a farce when we have used all these formations for the last 4 years and chose not to last night. Salem was out coached last night. We weren’t out manned. If what you are saying is true, Salem won’t make it to the Region game!! They’ll go to Louisa and get beat badly

@Kilroy25, you may be right about one thing. Louisa is very good, but just like a lot of other teams in class 4 they haven't been tested. Trust me Hiter (rb), Wilson (qb) and the Louisa offense has changed a ton. They are extremely versatile and if Salem doesn't put on their big boy pants on game day your theory could be proven correct. Salem has been here before, so as an outsider who knows what the Spartans can do I expect them to right the ship.

You probably right. I haven't been a high level coach.

Perhaps the reason they did what they did was the belief that was their most favorable matchups. PH, probably like Martinburg and FC have enough,if not more, speed and just enough size to match the Spartans. In fact, that has probably been true during the years several other times for PH and of some former Salem playoff opponents. However, much more often than not through the years, Salem does what they do, does not try to do things they cannot do and their opponents make the mistakes(turnovers, penalties, etc.) feeling the pressure of trying to beat Salem. Last night, PH did not wilt but, the historical probability still says it was the right plan. Lewis is a great player with speed, PH has several like him.

The past proved to be a hurdle then!! With all the athletes and the first half was what it was, no adjustment was made at the half. None!! Came out and did the same thing over and over.. sometimes you have to give your athletes a chance. But what do I know, I’ve never coached either!!🙄
