If you get issued #1 you must be a team leader or someone important. Coaches send a message when the give a kid #1. Just look at the players throughout the years at Salem that get that digit.

Do other programs notice all of our little traditions/ secrets?

lol like no number 1s on any roster, nothing but plain white sox with no branding, etc?

Not the case in this scenario. They are allowed to pick the numbers, not issued the numbers.

About the muddy field???? I remember back in 96 when we hooked up with Sharando at Victory Stadium. The field was trash and the City put kitty litter all over the field!

Is that horse they run out a Mudder?

Yeah it's hanging in the rafters in the field house

Actually I thought the number 3 was the special number
I personally don't think we had any special numbers. Numbers are given out by positions. A lot of talented players chose to wear #3 then I think the fans started running with it during the Mag days. #1 has not been used since before Willis White. Bradley was the first player to wear #3. Since Salem doesn't use #1, it has been placed in the rafters for the team and not any individual players

Trolling aside I Actually I have a lot of love for Larry Bradley and think watching his son’s success has been cool. He was excited to beat a good Salem team. If we didn’t want him to be excited we should have put the game away and won. I can say that since I played that game.
Some things can't be forgiven.

“You come down here, and you play a team like Salem, I mean, by far the best football team we’ve played this year, not even close,” Smith said.

Seems like Handley's coach (formerly Sherando's coach) isn't giving the Warriors much of a shot tonight. He's not wrong that Salem will have a size and speed advantage and that Sherando will need to play their best game to have a shot, though I think a team down in Nokesville might disagree with his statement. They held Handley to 150 rushing yards with both Darling and Akanbi healthy.

Taking nothing away from Salem at all with this statement because they are a damn good team but there is absolutely no love loss between Sherando and Smith. I have no doubts that he partially made that statement as a shot at Sherando. Him making that statement means about as much as me saying if Handley had someone else as head coach, they may have left Salem with a win

At the end of the day, the teams still have to play the game. Turnovers and penalties can happen on any given play. A player slips or makes a bad read and the other team scores. Ex) team A beats team B in the regular season. I can't count how many times team B beats team A in the playoffs.

As a Salem fan I'm concerned the field conditions could negate Salems speed advantage. Salem will line up on offense and play power football hoping to pop one of the backs . They will do play action off of the runs. Of course the concern is will the Salem defense show up like they did against GW or will it be the pores defense seen much of the year. Look for a low scoring field position game determined by turnovers.
14-7 / 21-14
