Fumbles, pass interference, missed blocking assignments in passing situations. Very talented but that don't mean much when they make mistakes like this on a regular basis.

The QB play has just been awful. Wide open receivers for touchdowns on nearly every play the pass the ball the last three weeks missed 90% of the time. Also, fumbling snaps and exchanges for turnovers over and over again. They have a young guy in their at QB at Logan is injured and unavailable this week but it simply has to get better.

Well, is one way to work around the issue.... zero pass attempts for the entire third quarter. Salem now leads 28-14.

Too much arm tackling by GW tonight. For the first time in 4 meetings, GW is the aggressor.

That might just seal. Now 35-21 Salem with a few minutes left.

Salem has run one formation and not attempted one pass for the entire second half and has scored on all three possessions.

Failed blocked punt by GW in first half, interception when GW should’ve been running the football and arm tackling.. Congrats Salem fans. Same script, different year.

I'm from SWVA and always remember Salem being good. But haven't most of the larger schools around there dropped in enrollment? Cave Spring split with Hidden Valley. Seemed like Fleming and PH used to be bigger. Maybe I'm wrong. That's happened a lot down here around Raleigh and to some extent Charlotte due to the amount of people relocating to NC and a number new schools opening. Roanoke area is more of a retirement community iirc.

PH has an enrollment to be in Div 6. They were granted to move down to Div 5 several yrs ago. WF is currently DIV 5 as well. When CS split they basically took a DIV 6 school and made two DIV 3 schools

There was a lot of arm tackling and GW definitely played better than they have against Salem in the past but I’m not sure about being the aggressor. Salem didn’t attempt a pass and ran one formation the entire second half and GW couldn’t do anything about it

GW actually smacked Salem in the mouth in the first half. They let their foot off the gas and it was over. GW had all momentum and they draw up a crazy screen pass that ended up being picked. The GW running game was nice tonight and they decided to pass. Smh!

Thanks. I lost track or stopped following back when it was still the old Blue Ridge (?) District. But I know there's some good ball players in that part of VA this year.

Believe it or not. Some times the team your playing makes you make mistakes.
Not fumbling snaps/exchanges and missing wide open receivers with a clean pocket to throw from.

Salem will need to be astronomically better to have a chance next week but I love how physical they played in the second half and I am proud of them.
