Salem schedule changes for next week

Varsity Football vs Blacksburg originally scheduled for Monday, 2/22 will now be played on Tuesday, 2/23 @ 7pm at Salem Stadium. Varsity Football vs Christiansburg originally scheduled for Friday, 2/26 will now be played on Saturday, 2/27 at 1pm at Christiansburg High School.

I think it might have been. Potential slick roads for Blacksburg on the way back home. Tuesday should be a few degrees warmer.

Smart move. I'll be surprised if other schools don't make thes move. Especially Friday to Saturday.

A question came up in conversation yesterday, and I posed it to Danny today.

Has a Virginia high school football team ever played games on back to back days? (This question does not include games that are carried over to a second day). I know there have been plenty of Monday/Friday games. And, probably a few Tuesday/Friday games.

I don't believe that there is a VHSL rule that states how much time is required between games, but the VHSL does recommend a minimum of four days.

I would think if back to back games were ever played, it was probably in the era before World War II.
