Showing on website away against Magna Vista and Brookville and away against Jefferson Forest in benefit game .
DP if you would, could keep us posted on when Dinwiddie scrimmages. I would love to check out the Dinwiddie/Bird scrimmage. I hate that you guys play JM the same night Highland Springs plays Herm. I'll more than like come watch you guys in Fredericksburg. Both games will be really good!Hang in there Mike. I think I just counted 81 days until the first day of practice. And scrimmages should start about two weeks later. We can make it if we just keep talking football.
That's darn good scrimmages for all teams involved. We have Lord Botetourt and hopefully a third team, and then LC Bird, with possibly Henrico.
I don't see anybody beating HS this year. They won't have Dortch or Wallace but they're still going to be good! Varina and maybe Herm has the best chance, but I agree. HS by as much as they score in the second half. Will do. Yeah, if Dinwiddie wasn't playing that night, I would try to go to the same game. It will be a war, as usual. I'll make an early prediction. HSHS by 21, pulling away in the second half.
I think we may be hosting the Bird scrimmage this year, but that is usually decided late in case there are conflicts. Such as field conditions, on going construction, etc.
Those are the same scrimmages we had last year MV/Brookville & benefit with JF, unfortunately they are both away this year. So I'll have to wait just a little bit longer. They are good preparation for the season. I expect Brookville to be a bit better, JF not quite as good, MV maybe about the same if they can successfully replace McGuire at QB.Hang in there Mike. Good question, schedule just shows August 12th Brookville/Magna Vista Away 6:00. Sorry that's all I know. Will the three-team scrimmage be held at Brookville or MV?
Those are good scrimmages to start the year Mike. But Salem is Salem. It's little more than stretching the Hammies before a race and Mag's uses it properly. Competitive 3's and a 4. But you might be able to get a decent read on some of the up and comers. Those are the same scrimmages we had last year MV/Brookville & benefit with JF, unfortunately they are both away this year. I know a MV assistance and he told me that Cam Perkins will start at QB. I also know that their middle school team (Laurel Park) was darn good and they gave GW's middle school team their only lost and GW's middle school team was LOADED! If I'm not mistaken MV's JV team lost to Tunstall and GW but that's all I really know about the young players. If im not mistaken, perkins should be the new QB for MV.. Hes fast with a pretty good arm, they ran alot of read option when he would play late in games last year. The back up running back showed potential last year. MV will have alot of next men up this year, but with that i think they will have something new to prove and wont be so much focused on last years state championship.. i wouldn't be surprised for another slow start for the warriors with all the gaps to fill, but they should be ready toward the end of the season.
Yeah Mags uses the scrimmages to assess everybody. As a fan, you'll find yourself saying, "who is # __?Those are good scrimmages to start the year Mike. But Salem is Salem. Both this year's Amherst and next year's Dinwiddie will be good measuring sticks. GL with both.Yeah Mags uses the scrimmages to assess everybody. As a fan, you'll find yourself saying, "who is # __?
Both of the scrimmages are away this year so I won't be able to see them, but I'm sure someone will post the skinny. In the grand scheme of things they'll be forgotten by the time Amherst comes to town Game 1. This will be Salem's best regular season test this year. (We have Dinwiddie to look forward to next year for that honor)

Gotta love this. We will certainly know where the Generals stand after the scrimmage sessions. Nothing but respect for coaches desire to test our men in the preseason. No fear! Lets play tomorrow.1st Scrimmage LB and Bluefield
2nd Scrimmage Oscar Smith, LC Bird, and Henrico at Dinwiddie
