Now that the full schedules are released, which teams do y’all think have the hardest schedules and which matchups are noticeable ones?

I hate to point out the obvious, but everyone in the NND has a tough schedule. Especially those that chose to play Riverheads.

I also noticed that some teams still have Charles City on the schedule, but the district they are in does not. I guess those schools are still looking for replacement games?

As far as non-district schedule I would have to say that W&L has toughest in Region A.

Has Charles City folded again already?

Playoff spots in no particular order - West Point, W&L, Essex, Rapp, Colonial Beach, Northampton, Northumberland
Final playoff spot will be between - Lancaster, Mathews, & King & Queen.

Plus 4 out of 5 of W&L’s non-district games are away.

W&L might have the toughest schedule in the region. I guess it's a good year to make the schedule that tough. Not saying they will but if they go 3-7, they will still probably be #6-7 in region A.
They'll definitely be the most battle tested team. If they're 6-4 or better, wouldn't want to see them come playoff time.

Dang, both NND games v Riverheads are at Riverheads.

Was hoping at least one was in the Neck.

Kudos to both W&L and CB for taking on Riverheads. Impressive.

Excellent coaching staffs at all three schools there.

Northumberland has added two 2A schools - Bruton and Buckingham Co. Nice additions there.

Interested in seeing Buckingham at NHS - October 4th.

I made a few comments about NHS in the Mathews 7v7 thread and in the tread about Indian kicker Harry Lee v the Riverheads kicker if interested.

Should be another exciting year in Region A football.

My understanding is Chs City has only a 5 or 6 game schedule and there's no certainty they will make it to game one.
Bruton has a 10 game schedule but is not playing the larger Bay Rivers schools. I believe they only played 5 games last year

Schedule is interesting and crazy that both are at Riverheads this year but both games will be in the neck next year so the Red team will make two trips out East in 2020.

I haven't really looked at more than them and SD, but both of them got it better this year and worse next. SD has Covington, James River, Luray all at home this year and Clarke away, so that flips next year

I was taking a closer look at the schedules and marking games on calendar I would like to see - plus, looking at going to 3 or 4 college games too - VT, ECU, ODU, maybe a Penn State game (hoping that they don't conflict).

Anyway, noticed that Northumberland only has 4 home games again.

Two years ago, same thing, Last year, did not make it up as only had 5 home games. Must be fixed. Not only for home field advantage but, more importantly, for the gate - football pays for the other sports.

This mistake was created by a previous AD and coach.

Dang, also noticed I will miss the biggest NHS home game this year - v Rappahannock. Already booked a hotel in NC.

Since this is the first year of a new 2-year schedule cycle, wouldn’t that mean NHS has 6 home games in 2020? And wouldn’t this year’s schedule be from Lewis and the current AD?

Thanks WP02alum for your comments- Issue resolved - NHS Coach Lewis and his new (this will be 2nd year) AD Rock had already fixed schedule glitch! Well done.

Northumberland does have 5 home games this season.

Evidently, it was a mistake on the master schedule!

But yeah, that previous schedule with back to back 4-Home game seasons? Yuck.

I usually watch a lot of Riverheads games but this year I might end up watching all of them. W&L, CB, Glenvar. Are you kidding me right now? And the first year of the post-Casto era too! These have the potential of being epic games.

The post casto era only lasted a few weeks.

He un-retired?

I'm not sure if you are joking or just hadn't heard. Quick recap, and please no more arguments about it guys, all the assistants were gonna leave, new coach resigned, Casto talked back into returning and all assistants as well, and last I had heard (maybe Riverheads guys have heard different) was he said he will coach 3 more years
