He is a very smart kid who is great x and o's wise - he loves football and pours everything he has in to it (his dad was a highly respected head coach in New York so he grew up around the game) - and he is great with the kids. I don't think you could ask for more in a coach - this being his first head job the only real unknown is how he will manage the administrative tasks of being a head coach and how effective will his off-season program be - both of these are essential components to program success.
I know there was a lot of talk on the board about re-tread head coaches in the valley maybe getting the job but I believe unless the coach has an unbelievable track record and a good reason why he left his old position - you are better off hiring a bright young coach with something to prove than hiring a guy just because he has been a head coach before.
Girolmo will be utilizing a lot of RPO in his offense - do any of you know if any other teams in the valley utilize RPO? His dad was a double wing guy and he will use some double wing which i know some other teams in the valley run. The best part about the type of offense he runs is that you cannot define it as "spread" or "wing t" - Lee will line up in 5 wide or double wing and everything in between. Any thoughts from people in the valley on how this type of system will work down there?
