Magna Vista was not worried when JM got off the bus, give the Warriors some credit.

Sure. Congratulations Magna Vista on a great game and season. Next week is Lynchburg. Very best of luck.

Yes shauntclair JM go off the bus just like all other teams have at the Hole but unfortunately they had to get back on the bus with a loss. It was a great high school game and the MV Warriors really showed heart and they found the fight they needed when they needed it. JM has a great team and they gave us all they could but the MV defense made big stops and the offense continued to exhibit their strengths as well. We have a few hours to celebrate this win and then we will have to focus on the trip to Lynchburg on next Saturday.

GO WARRIORS!!!!!!

But no one in the ENTIRE State at ANY LEVEL would want to see JM get off that bus. What a joke.

JM this is not a crack on you. You all have one of the best programs in the entire state. This one is just for Shaunty.

Did exactly what I expected of them. Gave a good team a hell of a fight. Don't tell me you weren't concerned when they were sitting at your 2 for the game clincher. Would have been the same whever they went, IMO. They make you earn it.

Today, MV earned a trip to LU. Congratulations to them.

What did you think of Scroggins and Keyshawn Johnson?

you've had a bad two weeks

Courtland loses-----JM loses-----Liberty loses-----I guess sw virginia football isn't that bad compared to the area of the state where you used to live.

hey dude it doesn't matter what we thought, turnovers are a part of the the game. MV had chances to put it out of reach early in the game it did not happen, when you make it this far you should have heart, don't get me wrong JM had heart they were a very good team................But MV had a little more!!!

Re: you've had a bad two weeks

Really. I picked GW over Courtland by 7 points. Last week, I had Salem 49 - 21 over GW. I had Liberty 42 - 35 over JF. I never picked a winner for the MV/JM game. Only said they were the last team you want to see get off the bus. In addition, JM was only 2 yards away from a 21 point lead with less than 7 minutes to go but that's football. MV was incredibly fortunate on a simple handoff from two Seniors that never should have happened and they turned it into a win. Good for them. They needed to make two long drives after that to pull it out and got it done. Championship caliber stuff. Ithey got a break and then earned it. I picked Liberty for the reason stated. That I had them in the end after week 7 and wouldn't renege on that call, despite clear doubts and despite I've had Salem as #1 in 4A North since week 1. You won't find any posts that say different.

Anything else?

Let's see, did I pick JM to win? No. Did I pick Courtland to win? No. In the last 2 years, I've made only 2 choices on teams for reasons other than facts. Last year it was Courtland over Sherando, even though I knew the QB was hurt. A choice of heart. This year, it was Liberty over Salem because I had picked Liberty to go to LU in week 7. A choice of character. I.ve been pretty much spot on with the rest. Right down to the final scores.

You keep chasing but you never catch. Ever seen the show "Jackass"?

Re: you've had a bad two weeks

You said last team at any level - now that was assanine.

Re: you've had a bad two weeks

I think Shaunty is half correct on this one. Teams from the East don't want to see JM get off the bus.
There is however no other team that the West would rather see get off the bus.

. Now there's a point and fact. 4 years in a row, a Western team has eliminated them. Well done.

Although 4 years in a row, has any Western team played at their level? None to my knowledge is like JM. Still, getting there is great. Playing tremendous seasons consistently is great. Going as far as they do is great. But you are what your record says you are. Despite the unexpected and miracle victories over highly ranked teams, they haven't gotten over the hump since 2008.

Still a tremendous program and team that can often get it done with smoke and mirrors. Not this year.....again. But one thing is certain. Lafayette is much happier it's MV than JM. JM has owned them for years.

MV got a real break to advance to the final and then took advantage. Champions are made in such ways. Bring it home Saturday. GL to,both.

Re: you've had a bad two weeks

It is probably true we would prefer anyone to JM . They do not seem to bring out our best. This year though I was about neutral . We knew the JM offense pretty good and I did not think all that much of their defense this year . Petersburg scored a whole bunch as did a few others on JM. We found Petersburg to be fairly easy. And revenge was on our mind. MV is an unknown to us as expected but they have a great record and excellent QB and RB. It will be interesting to see our defense that is the best we have had in years match up aginst their offense.

Re: you've had a bad two weeks

I equate JM to Cave Spring. When Cave was in Region IV they always seem to find a way to the Region title game.
Now that the regions are gone Cave is a 1st round patsy. The reason Cave always made it to the final was that they didn't have to play a decent team until they faced Richlands. If they found their way past Richlands the season ended abruptly at the hands of NS or Brookville.
The old Region III teams have won 4 of the last 5 state titles. If JM had been in the West they would have never made it to the last 3 state finals in the first place. (Obvious because they lost when they did play them.)
Personally I feel that both NS and Brookville has played at a higher level than JM over the last 4 years this is proven with their 4 state titles. JM was just fortunate to be in the East so they could avoid playing them until the finals.

Re: you've had a bad two weeks

One of the issues is the competition in the east. It is far, far tougher in 4a than 3a. We go to 4a once again as we used to be in 4a for years until recently. This year our #1 seed points in 3a would have been #4 seed in 4a here. This year when we were reclassified to 4a next year JM was also considered to be reclassified to 4a. They were able to get it nixed.

Re: you've had a bad two weeks

Yes, it's interesting how it breaks down in the East/South:

6A -two juggernauts from 757, no one else seems all that close, really.
5A- loaded around Richmond, light in the 757 (Seriously, I thought 7 teams around Richmond had a real chance to get to finals before the thing started)
4A- Usually a team or two in Richmond that is legit, but they usually represent the area well., a BUNCH of good squads farther East
3A- Drop off is remarkable from 4A.

Before the realignment I felt like 5A was very weak in most of the state except for 757 with the powers up in 6A, especially in Richmond and DC areas. I thought 4A was probably right with the old 5A schools once you got down pass the power of the year in 757. I still think it's going to be a while before this realignment balances everything out, but it's coming.

You spend a lot of time keeping track of what you think and what you said. Likely, it's a waste of time, and really not that important.

Important? Not at all and I have to agree there. But you keep chasing without ammunition. The predictions were correct. Problems with that do not belong to me.
