The season is underway already. I don't follow baseball as carefully as I do football and basketball but if my memory serves, Page won the 2-A title last year and Riverheads won the 1-A. Page returns Willliams, who has already posted his first victory of the season, and RHS returns a solid nucleus from its team, so you have to like each one's chances to repeat. Riverheads is on the road twice this week, traveling to Harrisonburg and Stuarts Draft, so those two should give a good indication as to the Big Red's strength.
East Rock has traditionally been strong as well and should be again. I believe Dalton Jefferson pitches for them. Stuarts Draft and Wilson are usually competitive, and it was only year before last that Stonewall made a surprising run all the way to the state finals.
Bottom line......it should be quite competitive and just about anybody might be able to beat just about anybody else on any given afternoon.
