As junior quarterback Ethan Caperton walked off the field after the Hawks 49-13 victory over the Central Falcons, one of this teammates walked up to him and congratulated him on his two touchdown passes. Caperton thanked him, but also corrected him, noting it was 3 touchdown passes and not 2. It was that kind of night for Caperton, who completed 9 out of 11 passes for 229 yards and 3 touchdowns and no interceptions. That is a QB rating of 158.3, and is one of the reasons Skyline was able to stretch a close 21-13 halftime score into a running clock blowout before a Homecoming and Senior Night crowd at Skyline High School on Friday.

Caperton was not the only Hawk with a good night, as Logan Maiatico led the rushing attack, with 10 carries for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns. Budder Haley, who did not play due to injury last week in a victory over William Monroe, was back in action and caught 5 passes for 127 yards and a touchdown. It was also a coming out party for freshman Aidan Vaught, who had touchdown receptions of 73 and 20 yards on the night, as well as 20 yards rushing.

Central actually had the lead early in the 2nd quarter after Ashton Baker connected to Jamonta Harris on a 68 yard touchdown strike, and Isaiah Dyer added a 1 yard TD plunge, to put the Falcons up 13-7. But Caperton went to work, connecting with Vaught on a 20 yard pass to tie the score at 13, and then with Haley on a 75 yard strike to take the lead for good at 21-13 with 2:03 to go in the first half.

The Hawks totaled 487 yards of total offense, and improve their record to 2-1. They travel to Manassas Park next Friday night.

Correction: 547 yards total offense. I forgot to include the long pass play by the 2nd quarterback in the game.
