Well it was bitter sweet as it would have been nice to make the long drive home with a W but the Warriors would not be denied (the bitter ) but it was also the last game for my son as a high school football player and those emotions of having your last game will always be saved into the memory vault forever ( the sweet ).

The hole was just that - a large hole with huge concrete bleachers that seems designed for giants, but the atmosphere was fun and I was happy to see the turnout for the mustangs for such a long trip.

I don't see MV having a problem in the west and could take the whole thing. The MV defense should be commended for the 3 red zone stops, if not for those stops - things could have been very different!

Good luck moving on...

Thanks, and for your son, he has been a part of a great program at Monticello, and for that he should be proud. I had thought about giving you a shoutout over the P.A. system, but I said to myself "maybe not." This Friday's game will be huge. Northside beat us last year at the same time. I knew after they beat us that they would win state. This year, hopefully our boys will be victorious and play in December. Up to this point, we have made several playoff runs under Favero, but we have not gotten past this (day after Thanksgiving) game. A couple years we lost to Christiansburg (when they had that squad that made it to the state final and lost to Briar Woods). So, this game is huge for several reasons. Redemption against Northside is one thing, but also proving that we can play in December is another thing. So, with that being said, GO WARRIORS!! Hopefully, the WARRIORNATION will show up in BIG numbers on Friday night.

That was most definitely me calling the game. I have been the voice of the Magna Vista Warriors (football and basketball) for 11 years now.

I know I called various players quite a bit (Davis, Weaver, Koonce, Heuchert, and others). Anyway, I'm just glad that we all saw a very competitive game. Well wishes to your son in finishing out his senior year and beyond.
