St Christopher's didn't let a little rain spoil their homecoming as they remained unbeaten with a 39-7 win over Norfolk Academy. It was the Saints first home game after three straight road wins to open the season. Jeb Bemiss passed for 195 yards and two touchdowns while Charlie de Venoge ran for 163 yards and two touchdowns.

Senior Jack Spruill set the tone for the St Christopher's defense early with a big sack on the Bulldogs opening drive. Bemiss then led the Saints on a 10-play, 60-yard drive that ended with a 10-yard touchdown pass from Bemiss to John Damgard for a 6-0 lead. St Christopher's added two more touchdowns before halftime to go ahead 20-0. Sean Menges scored on a 3-yard touchdown run and de Venoge added a 12-yard touchdown run with after a poor punt gave the Saints took over at the Norfolk Academy 36-yard line.

St Christopher's continue to pour it on in the second half. Bemiss connected with Damgard for a big 24-yard completion that led to a 1-yard run by Menges that made the score 27-0. After a touchdown by Norfolk Academy, Bemiss found tight end Ned Tazewell for a 53-yard pass play then he threw a pass to Justin Jasper on a fade route for a 2-yard touchdown just before the start of the 4th quarter.

Charlie de Venoge, running primarily behind the right side offensive line of Tazle Sumpter, Jack Spruill, and Jonny Najarian, finished a 9-play 63-yard drive with a 4-yard touchdown run.

Linebacker Paul Thompson (fumble recovery and four sacks) help keep the Bulldogs from getting close to another score. The Saints defense is allowing less than 10-yards a game.

Norfolk Academy was able to move the ball effectively in only one drive in the second half. Quarterback Christian Randolph completed a 30-yard pass to Spencer Estep and the two hooked up again for a 9-yard touchdown completion with 4:07 to go in the 3rd quarter. The Bulldogs will face Hampton Roads Academy next week.
